Ever since I laid eyes on you...I loved you, I don't want you to leave me...please...
~~~~~~~~
I was at the fair with my friends when I saw someone that caught my eye, he had dirty blonde hair, with a flick of it coming off from the top of his head, tanned skin, and piercing blue eyes. He was wearing a Superman t-shirt, blue jeans, red converse, and glasses. I found his appearance quite attractive, and familiar...
"Earth to Sophy!" my friend Amelia waved her hand in my face. "You, like, totally spaced out dudette!"
"S-Sorry Em, I was just thinking about something..."
"Well what were you thinking about?"
"Nothing."
"Okay...whatever you say..." We continued walking around and then heard an announcement saying that the firework show was going to start soon. My friends and I ran off and left me alone in a crowd of people. 'Great...' I thought. I found an empty area up front and sat there, hoping they would see me, but instead I noticed that the same guy I was looking at earlier had seen me and had started to walk over to me.
"Mind if I sit here?" He asked as he pointed to the spot next to me.
"Not at all." I replied as I moved over a little for him to sit.
"Thanks." He took a seat beside me and looked at me curiously. "Haven't I seen you before?"
"I believe you have." I glanced up at him then looked back down to the water.
"Well maybe I could remember better if you told me your name."
"Does Sophy ring a bell...?" I asked.
"Wait..." He thought for a minute before his eyes lit up. "Yeah! It does! You went to school with me!"
"Huh..?" I looked up at him and suddenly I remembered. "Alfie?"
"Yup!" He smiled at me and I smiled back.
"I've missed you Alfie..." I said. Honestly, I always have, ever since we graduated high school we promised we would keep in touch but it was hard to, I was so in love with him...well, ever since I laid my eyes on him to be exact.
My thoughts were interrupted by a loud 'boom!' and looked over and saw a colored streak in the air, signalling that the firework show was starting. We both looked to the sky and watched the show, and somehow we ended up holding hands and towards the end of the show, we realized what we were doing, and we pulled our hands away from each other.
"S-Sorry Alfie...I didn't mean to do that..."
"It's fine..." He said, "Um...Sophy?"
"Yeah?"
"What would you say if I told you that I loved you?"
"...I would say that I loved you too..."
"Really?"
"Alfie, I've loved you ever since I laid my eyes on you..."
Alfred smiled and moved closer to me. "Well, I was about to say the same thing." He closed the space between us and as we kissed, I felt sparks fly. Soon we parted and looked at each other, clearly in love. Afterwards we began to walk around together and soon it was getting late. Before I left I gave him my number so we could talk later.
A few years later we started to live together, and we were so happy together. Until one night. I git a call from Arthur, Alfred's brother, and he told me to go to the hospital, I didn't ask questions and I told him I would be there as soon as possible. For some odd reason I knew it was Alfred.
When I got there I asked if I could see Alfred and when they led me to his room I was terrified at what I saw. He was lying on the bed with a majority of his body bruised and cut up...he looked like he was about to die...but I didn't want to think that he was going to. I sat on one of the chairs beside his bed just as he started to wake up a little.
"A-Alfie..." I said as tears formed in my eyes.
"Sophy?" He looked my way and coughed a bit. "I-I'm sorry this happened..."
"W-What happened to you...?
"I-I got i-in a car c-crash...I-I don't have long...I-I'm sorry..." He said as tears began to fall down his face.
I shook my head and kept myself from sobbing. "N-No...t-this can't be happening..."
"I-I wish it wasn't...but i-it is..."
~~~~~~~~
Now, I remember that before he had died...we told each other how much we loved each other and...we shared our last kiss.
Memories of being together flowed through my head, but the one memory that stood out, was that one summer day at the fair...watching the colorful streaks reflect off of the water, holding his hand...and proving our love for each other...and my first kiss...my first kiss was with him, and I will never forget it.
The next summer, I went to the fair with my friends again, and we all stayed together this time, and when we watched the fireworks...the memory came back, and the pain in my heart as well. I started to cry, and soon my friends hugged me and tried to calm me down...but it didn't work. They all looked at me worriedly, but they understood what I went through, so they pat my back, and Amelia hugged me tightly.
"It'll be okay Sophy...it'll get better...you'll get through this, okay? And we're going to help you."

Even though you're not here with me now, the memory of you makes me feel the same way when I first met you. Love. I felt love. But you're not here anymore...

Short StoryThis is a story I wrote in sixth grade, I was kinda hesitant since people sometimes blow up when authors ship themselves with a character, but I've gotten the thumbs up from one of my close friends to post this, so I'm gonna do it! I hope you enjoy...
