"Good," said Carter, writing a final cheack on a sheet of paper. Tate sat there, still tied, adn stared into the distance. How could she do this to her friends?

"Hey, kid, good job being 'polite'. We really needed your help," smirked Carter. Tate looked up at him with her big, brown eyes in disgust. She shook her head and went back to her original position. She felt terrible, and he wasn't helping. Carter went behind Tate and started to untie the ropes. Carter, after 5 minutes, decided he would just cut the ropes loose. He first cut the ropes at her legs. After he had just her hands, Tate ran.

"Oh, ssssshhhhh-,"grunted Carter, rising up to chase her. She was running as fast as she could through the old driveway, but Carter was much faster. Within seconds, he had snatched her up. He threw her to the ground with a thud, and got on top of her.

"What the crap was that?!" demanded Carter. Tate squirmed to no avail. He grabbed her face and yelled,"Answer me!"

"UH HUH!!!," yelled Tate squirming, trying get her arms free.

"Am I gonna have to get Jack?"

"You wouldn't.

"Wanna bet?"

"Just get off of me, and I'll answer you. Happy?,"gestured Tate.

"If you run, I'm not going to get Jack or be this nice. I'm gonna shoot, but not at you,"said Carter with a creepy gleam in his emerald green eyes, from the sunset. He slowly got up, keeping a tight hold on her arm.

"Answer, now," said Carter.

"I was running from help,"said Tate, staring at how far, yet so close, she was to rescue.

"Really? You're gonna have to talk 'bout with Jack in the mornin'. This is pretty serious."

"Please no! I told you why I ran!"

"Sorry. He said to when it gets this serious,"said Carter. Tate felt her knees almost give way. Wow. Jack's even crazier than he was 6 months ago!

"Come on now. Let's get you to your 'room'," said Carter tugging on her arm. She slowly followed, thinking about what Jack would do. He had the upper hand way high in this sitsuation.

"What's Jack gonna do?" Tate lightly asked.

"How do I know? I'm not Jack," said Carter," But, I'll tell you what. If you be good, we wont go. Kapeesh?"

"Yes, thank you!" said Tate hugging him strongly.

"Get off me me."

"Oh, sorry. I was a bit joy-stricken, I guess," said Tate sheepishsly.

"It's ok. Just don't do it anymore," said Carter stopping infront of a cell-like space in a wall. Tate hadn't even noticed they weren't outside! 'Dang," she thought,' l'm loosing it."

"In you go. Now stay quite and everything will be fine," said Carter lightly pushing Tate in her cell. He locked the door and turned.

"Night,"said Tate. Carter stopped and paused.

"Night.'

(Next morning)

Tate woke to the sound of movement, and the feel of arms carrying her. She looked up quickly to see Gordon carrying her, looking straight forward with a straight face.

"Mornin' sunshine," said Gordon sarcastically.

"Mornin'? What's going on?' asked Tate.

"Jack said he wanted to see you. Don't ask me why, but he did," replied Gordon. Tate instantly remembered her acts from last night. Did Carter tell him? Gordon sat Tate on her feet and opened the door. He grabbed her arm and proceeded through the door. Tate's eyes popped at the look of the place. Outside, it was worn down and fragile looking, but, on the inside, it was very clean, with all modern appliances, and, appearently, a new paint. As she took it all in Gordon walked through the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, to a room with games such as air hockey, ping-pong, and checkers. Tate saw Jack sitting at the checkers table playing against Ty.

"King me!" shouted Ty. Jack banged his hands on the table, and relunctantly kinged Ty. Gordon lightly coughed.

"Oh! Hey. Did y'all just get in here?''asked Jack.

"Yeah."

"Good. Come sit down Tate. We have some business to attened to."
