Some of them never come back...

I ran
I ran as fast as I could. She just didn't understand! She didn't understand why I had to become a soldier.
But come to think of it.
Nor did I...
I ran further. Just two more streets, two more streets until I was at Zad's house. I had to get to him. I had to tell him that it was time, time to become a soldier.
He'd promised me 2 years ago that he would follow me. That he would join me as a warrior in battle. I was too scared to do this on my own. I wasn't brave enough to join the warrior corps alone. He'd suggested to join me. I agreed, even though he was too kind, too soft to be a warrior. I was so scared to go alone, I didn't see this. But it was too late. He wanted to go with me. I had tried talking to him out of it, I said that he didn't have to do this, that he didn't have to join me into death. But he wanted to. He'd said: "Colo, I'm coming with you. No matter what. I won't let you go all by yourself."
The door opened. I hadn't realised that I had stood in front of Zad's front door in silence for about 5 minutes now. His little sister Sariël stood in the dooropening. She looked at my panicked face and crumpled wings. She nodded and let me in. She walked me to Zad's bedroom. Her little wings (which weren't able to fly, or even glide) waved slightly. She opened the door to Zad's room and held it open for me. She closed the door behind me.
I stood there, in Zad's room. His back facing me. He was probably doing his homework or something. I tapped his shoulder, and he turned round. When he had studied my appearance, he nodded. He had been my best friend since I was 7 so he could read me pretty well.
"So it finally happened huh?" he asked. "How did it go?"
"I ran away."
"I figured Colo. Your mother would never let you go voluntarily."
He grabbed his bag, that apparently he had already prepared. He expected this to happen...?
Well whatever that was not important at the moment. "Let's go Zad. It's time."

There we stood. In front of the training centre. This was the place where angels were trained to become warriors. This was the place where WE were going to become warriors. I sighed, it was a lot to take in.
If I went through with this, there was no way back. I could still back out now...
No! This had been my dream for years, my duty! I'd wanted to become a warrior since I was 8!
There was no way I was going back. I was prepared for everything. I was even prepared to die.
"Are you ready Colo?" Zad asked.
Without giving him an answer, I walked through the door into the training centre.
My new life ahead..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was huge. The training hall was gigantic! The ground floor was entirely made from marble! The pillars were coated in gold and some of the decorations were too. It was stunning. But there were only two people in the hall. I looked to my left where Zad still stood, gaping at the beauty of this room. I turned my head back to the two girls that were talking in a corner. No, they were arguing!
I walked towards them with shaking legs. I still wasn't really over the fact that we were really there!
Even when I was only about 3 metres away from them, they didn't seem to notice me. They were still too engulfed screaming at one another.
I tapped the shoulder of the girl closest to me. She squeaked and turned around. She had long blonde hair and really big blue eyes. She stared at me for like 5 seconds and then she grinned. The girl the blonde had been fighting with looked curiously at us. She was the exact opposite of the girl right in front of me. She had short, roughly cut black hair and even darker eyes. She was also like 5 inches taller than the blonde.
I turned to my left and found Zad staring at the blonde girl. The blonde noticed him and shook his hand. He gaped at her, at loss for words. I shook my head. Zad has always had a soft spot for pretty girls.
"Hi, I'm Lux." The blonde told my best friend.
"And that girl there is Nox."
Zad shook his head really fast (as if to supress his thoughts for now) and then answered:"Hi, m-my name is Zad. And That's my b-best friend Colo."
I nodded at the girl (now known as Lux).
''Welcome to the Warrior Academy boys!" She said excitedly.
