Prologue

they’re god’s messengers on earth, they’re shining beacons of hope and light, they walk amongst us in their hundreds, or so they say. It was one of them that brought God’s son to earth, it is one of them that guards the gates of heaven, it is they that carry God’s glory and show it to the world.

The angels, the heavenly beings that serve God almighty in his every will, that are wholly good, pure, kind. They are here to watch over us, keep us safe. They are holy beings.

They say they’re good.

But they forget that angels can fall.

For isn’t Lucifer, the light bringer, isn’t he an angel? The angel that challenged God, the angel that fell, he was good once, pure, holy.

Now he’s the stereotypical bad guy, tempting Jesus in the desert, leading Eve astray.

But he’s not the only one, not by a long shot. Angels walk among us, most definitely, but not in the way that they say.
