"Ariel!" A voice whispered. "Ariel, wake up before mom comes up here and kicks your ass." I groggily opened my eyes to meet my older brother, Alex standing over me and shaking me.

"What do you want?" I mumbled, rubbing eyes.

"You over slept again, you have like 5 minutes to get ready, or I'm leaving without you." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his 'warning'. I quickly got up and did my daily routine; Teeth. Hair. Clothes. Shoes. Applied little makeup. I stood and looked at my reflection. The scar on my collar bone was still evident making me cringe. I quickly grabbed my books and went down the stairs jumping two at a time, even though I knew my brother wouldn't leave without me, I didn't want to hear my mother's mouth this early in the morning.

"Thank God! Come on, I'm gonna be late for basketball practice." He rushed, practically shoving me out the door.

"I'm coming, geez." I said, putting my hands up in surrender. When we got in the car and out the driveway I saw Alex physically relax.

"Sorry I rushed you, did you get to eat?" He asked turning towards me. Was he dumb? I woke up 30 minutes late and he was pushing me out the door? When did I have time to eat? Boys. Holding back all the sarcastic comments threating to fall out, I gave him a shake of the head. He reached across me and opened the glove box, pulling out a granola bar and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I smiled and ripped open the granola bar. I silently ate my granola bar and smiled looking out the window, it was raining, not hard just sprinkling but it still made me happy.

"What are you smiling at?" My brothers amused voice came from beside me, breaking me out of my trance.

"It's raining." I smiled. He shook his head and let out a laugh, pulling into the school. I got out looking around, I probably looked mental. Everyone had their hoods up or books over their heads, hurrying into the school, while I was taking my time, no hood, no books. I love the rain, and it rained a lot in Seattle so you'd think id get tired of it, but I never did, it was one of my favorite things in life, except pulling pranks on my brother. When I finally made it in the school I went to my locker, meeting my best friends, Damon and Chase. They were twins, which only meant double trouble for me. And before you get any ideas, I have no romantic feelings for either one of them, I've been friends with them both since diaper days and they're practically my brothers. Don't get me wrong, they were definitely good looking, but I would never look at them in any other way.

"What are you doing tonight?" Two voices asked at the same time. I turned to see Damon walking up to me with Chase. They weren't identical twins, they actually looked a lot different. Damon had blue eyes while Chase had brown, Chase takes after their mom, and Damon takes after their wonderful, dead beat father. Even though they looked nothing like one another, they still had the same personality and never failed to say things at the same time.

"Dude what the hell? I was supposed to ask her." Chase said, obviously annoyed at his brother.

"Why does it matter?" Damon asked, rolling his eyes.

"Both of you, shut up." I ordered, rolling my eyes, they argue over the most ridiculous stuff. "To answer your question, I'm going to the game tonight, but other than that probably nothing. Why?"

"Because..." Chase trailed off looking at Damon. Let me remind you, they were just arguing over who's asking me and here we are, Chase asking Damon to speak for him. I mentally rolled my eyes.

"Wewantedyoutogototheaftergameparty?" Damon rushed out. My eyebrows scrunched up in confusion, trying to comprehend whatever he just said, even though it sounded like he was talking to me in a different language.
