The back of my throat burns, the chilled air flushing down my throat causing it to become hoarse. I look over my shoulder, the two figures are now significantly faded. I continue running, my legs aching from the pounding of my feet against the ground. I don't stop, my vision becomes slightly blurred - yet it doesn't stop me from proceeding my sprint. I refuse to go back. I refuse.

I pull the hood over my head as a I reach the beginning of a new road. Pun. But really, there's a road that has just been newly paved in front of me. I dig my hands deep into my pockets and trail my eyes along the pavement as I walk at a fast-but-non-suspicious pace. I don't want caught afterall.

Continuing along the road, the rain starts to drip like a leak from the sky. Slowly then all at once. I have no where to stay, but that won't be a problem, there never is - as long as I don't get caught. A few cars buzz past me, and they dont even know who I am or even aware that me, the psycho who has killed more people than you can think about. The one who has something lurking inside of him, the one who refuses to abide by the law, is free on the streets. The one called, Jai Brooks.

Ella's POV

'That poor old man', Stacey says as we watch the elderly man leave the shop clutching onto his small cap which he stuffs his last tufts of hair that remain on his spotted bald head. He comes here everyday, a small black coffee, one sugar no milk. I only started here a few years back - but accordingly he has came here for 20 years, since he moved to this area. He used to be accompanied by his wife, up until she passed away just 3 years ago. It made me sad, I used to be inspired by their never-dying love for each other, the way he still held the door open for her even in their elderly days. The way they locked eyes on each other and cracked jokes just like a young couple would. My heart aches for him. But It still inspires me that there truly is someone out there that will be called your soulmate one day. I guess, love never dies.

'God, look at that rain', I groan. Stacey snickers.

'Good thing I got myself a car then', she elbows me jokingly.

'Don't remind me. You know that I can't afford a car just yet', I say looking over at my paper thin rain coat that is to protect me from that relentless rain.

'I know. But hey! Time will come, you'll get your car and you'll get your Mum that house too!', she smiles reassuringly.

6 years. 6 whole years I have been saving for that house. It's on Oak lane, just by the lake and park. I promised my Mum that when I moved out, I'd be moving her out too. It's mainly because she has spent the most of her life doing such loving and good things for others, nobody has repaid her - and that upsets me. So this is my returning of favour. The house that she fell in love with but just couldn't ever afford. I know the owner and he knows that I'm saving, it also helps that he is crazy rich - so he isnt losing much money by helping me out. Plus If I save accordingly and accurately - I'll be able to move my mother in by next year. Just 10 more grand, and then. Boom.

The shop was being over-shadowed by the dark clouds filled with rain, I look over at the clock that is pasted to the white wall. 5.01pm.

I hung my apron up on the hook and grabbed my coat, I wave over to Stacey and make my way out into the freezing cold.

As I step out onto the pavement, a figure bumps into me causing me to fall flat on my face - leaving him also plastered on the ground groaning in pain. 'Oh my god', I gasp.

'Are you alright?', I scurry over to the body curled up in pain.

'I- I have just hurt myself a little, sorry', the boy speaks. He looks older than me, but I can't properly see his face.

I look over and there is blood seeping through his trousers, how the hell did he manage to do that from bumping into me?

'Do you want me to take you to the hospital? Or your home', I ask.

'I dont have a home - I just arrived here today, It's fine - I'll be fine', his thick Australian accent calls.

I would have usually taken that as my cue to leave him there but I can't. For all I now his leg may be broken.

'Look, I am not the type to do this but I'll take you back to my place and we can check if your leg is alright. I can fix you something to eat? Then you can call a taxi when you want to leave', I smile reassuringly and also nervously because I dont even know who this guy is.

I see him smile briefly and he rotates his body around, exposing his whole face. He looks familiar, yet I can't quite recognise him. His face was gorgeous, and I'm mentally slapping myself for being so vain, but holy damn. He is noice. Very, very NOICE.
