-(y/n)'s pov-

I hopped from foot to foot, waiting for the train which could not get here fast enough. Even though my motion sickness was absolutely awful, the train was the fastest way to get to Magnolia. Then some horrible news came over the intercom.
"The train to Magnolia has been delayed. It will be here tomorrow morning at the earliest." The calm, female voice announced.
"NO!! GOD DAMMIT!!!" I screamed, stomping my feet. This wasn't supposed to happen!! As my temper tantrum ran its course, I got many odd looks. I couldn't blame them, but I also couldn't help but shoot glares at those silently judging me. After my fit, I straightened out and looked to my trusty exceed Ace.
"....no"
"Please Ace!? I need to get to Magnolia like, now! Can you please fly me there!?"
"What do I get?"
"Anything you want! Just please get me there!"
"...fine. But I'm going to hold you to your word."
Of course she would. I sighed, but accepted it anyway. At this point I'd do almost anything to get home. Ace gripped my shirt and took off into the air, taking me to Fairy Tail.

-Laxus' pov-

I chugged the beer delivered to me by Mira and sighed, staring at the now empty cup as if it would unlock the meaning of life. In less than 12 hours, I'd be holding a funeral for my best friend. At the thought of her probable death, I teared up a bit, but rubbed my eyes before the salty liquid ran down my cheeks. I looked around, making sure no one had noticed. I relaxed when I saw that no one had, and ordered another beer. I closed my eyes and leaned back, grabbing my beer as it was set on the table in front of me. "Thanks, Mira..." I mumbled, taking a rather large gulp.
"Is that the name of the nice, pretty lady downstairs?" I heard a familiar voice say. My eyes snapped open as I choked on my drink. No... It couldn't be... I coughed and spluttered as a small hand rubbed in between my shoulder blades. "Jesus Christ... Didn't mean to scare you..." As I calmed down, I looked at the owner of the voice and confirmed my suspicions. It was her. It was (y/n). "(Y-(y/n)... It's really you..." I managed to force out, still coughing from the choking incident...
"Of course it's me! Who else?" She asked, her (e/c) eyes disconcerting as they stared directly into mine. The blood rose to my face as she studied me. Clearing my throat and getting control of my blush, I broke the growing silence between us.
"So, I see you haven't grown so mush as an inch in these past ten years." I remarked, earning myself a fist to the stomach. I grunted as I registered the pain. "And you definitely haven't lost your touch or your temper..."
"Oh shuddup! Anyway, I see you're fucking massive now and you're still an asshole!" She snapped, obviously offended by the comment on her lack of height. And that was our relationship in a nutshell. When things got too sappy, one of us would say something to ruin the mood and start a fight, which usually ended in her standing victorious, a smug grin on her face. It was on one such occasion when, after I got my loss rubbed in my face, she helped me to my feet. And that was when I realized how truly attractive she was. I couldn't help but to fall for her. And the day I worked up the nerve to ask her, the day I was going to make her mine, I come to the guild to find out that she left on a century quest, without even telling me. That was the start of my descent, and it only got worse as time went on. The breaking point was when my father was kicked out. I sighed as these thoughts bounced around in my head, only to be pulled out of my trance by someone slapping me. I glared at (y/n), knowing she was guilty. She just grinned that smug grin that fit her so well.
"Sorry. Couldn't resist. You were spacing out and it gave me the perfect shot." I sighed, trying to rein in my temper. It hasn't even been five minutes, I don't want to start something with her.
Not yet, at least.
