Chapter 90
{Andrew's POV} "Come on Sadie it's time to go." I gently guide her out. "But, but-" "He'll be fine, it's Matt we're talking about." She sighs dramatically. "Fine." When we get back to the room Sadie immediately changes into sweatpants and a t-shirt. I quickly change too. Sadie looks at me and starts sobbing out of nowhere. I carefully approach her. I wrap her up in my arms and she doesn't say anything. She continues to cry. "What's on your mind?" She shakes her head. "I can't make it go away, but I want to at least hear everything." She looks at me. "You don't understand Andrew, I can't tell you." I hug her tighter. "Is this what this is about?" She nods. "Remember I can keep secrets? I'm your best friend." He sad eyes meet mine. "Em's not really pregnant." Sadie whispers into my ear, barely audible. "I know." I whisper back. "How?" She asks astonished. "Shh...Don’t worry babe. Now do you feel better?" She shrugs. "I hate that I'm crying so much, I'm sorry I know I shouldn't. It's just-" I kiss her deeply. "Better now?" She frowns and I frown. "I'm an idiot." She says. "You are defiantly not an idiot." I say, but she says it again. "I'm an idiot. I should've kissed you that day. You probably felt alone and rejected all in the same day. When you were teaching me, our faces were close enough to kiss. Something held me back. I'm an idiot." I look into her eyes. "Life is like an arrow, something holds you back, but just so you can be launched into something new and better. This is defiantly better than an awkward middle school relationship." I smile. "Who told you that thing about the arrow?" She smiles. "Your mom." I say reluctantly. "Don't." I say. She shakes her head. "I won't I'm done for a while. I can't keep crying like this." I sigh. "Sometimes, you have to cry." I say. "I mean look at me. You got me through my parents' death, simply just by smiling. I cried everyday, but you were there for me. Now it's my turn." I continue. I stroke her cheek. "They triggered something." Sadie whispers. "I know."
Chapter 91
{Sadie's POV} That night I had another dream. It was more of a hallucination than a dream though. "Sadie!" My mother calls my name. I can't tell where we are. I feel a sharp pain gnawing at my skull. "Mom, why are we here?" I ask like an innocent child. "Sadie, it's a rebellion. You're the leader." I shake my head. "I can't do this, I can't!" I cry out. "Yes, you can. I'm proud of you already." I frown. "I miss you." I say with a lump forming in my throat. "Don't cry." She hugs me. "I'll see you again." She says pulling away. "When?" I ask anxiously. "Soon, but now I have to leave." I clench my jaw in an effort to hold back tears. "Mom no!" I screech. "Goodbye, Sadie." "Noo!!!!" I scream until my throat is raw. I am shaken awake by Andrew. I am drenched in sweat, I have a major headache, and that same raw feeling in my throat. "My-my mom-" I croak hoarsely. Andrew holds me. "Shhh...It’s ok babe. You don't need to say anything right now. Shhhhh." He strokes my hair. "I can't do this." I say in a crackled whisper. "Yes you can, know why?" I shake my head. "Sadie, you are always so determined to accomplish things and with that you can really do anything." He is so nice to me. "Why are you so nice to me?" I ask. "You deserve it, every word." His voice is so attractive right now. I grab his shirt in a fist and pull him towards me and kiss him. "Whoa." He says pulling away, his green eyes locked on mine. We say nothing. "Thank you." I finally say. "You already thanked me." He says grinning. "You'd better get back to sleep." He says. Before I can argue he gently lays my head on my pillow and wraps me into his strong embrace. "Gosh, you're perfect." He whispers just as I fall asleep.
{Em's POV} Thankfully Lizzie saw what happened and coaxed Matt into the infirmary. It turns out his nose was broken. While they stop the bleeding and fix him up, I am pulled away so they can check my injuries. Everything is pretty much healed, so they remove my stitches. "That's going to leave a scar." The nurse says. I just shrug. "Ok you are free to go." I thank her and find Matt sitting up on the edge of a bed. "Ha! Brandon has a nice punch." He jokes. He has a splint on his nose. "How long do you have to wear that thing?" I sit down next to him. "Bout a week." He says carefully putting an arm around me. "Does it hurt?" He shrugs. "I'll be ok." He pats my shoulder. "But uh-I don't think Brandon will be ok..." I put my head on his shoulder. "I know." I say sadly. "I hurt him really bad." He kisses my forehead. "Yeah..." "Don't do anything to him Matt..." I think about how hurt he is already. "Nah, I deserved this. After all, I stole his girl and got her pregnant." That's what he thinks anyways. I shake my head. "Another problem we have to deal with." I sigh. "Don't worry we'll come up with something." I squeeze his hand. The doctor peeks her head in. "Matt? You can go now." He clears his throat. "Thanks doc." We walk out. "We'll be ok." He whispers to me.
