Chapter 1||
Thump! My head whips around, my face turning white. There is a lump forming in my throat,why did I agree to risk everything? All I'm thinking right now is, I need my bow, I need my bow! Being the last person in here is making me mad! I'm shaking and my palms are sweating. I need to calm myself down! As long as calm happens I could continue the plan. The plan! What if I mess this entire thing up!
Chapter 2||
My friends have always called me strong....I wish this were true. I'm said to underestimate myself,but I don't know. I'm also called smart,but that's school smart. This situation calls for something different;common sense, making quick decisions, and combat.
I shove some things into my large backpack and sprint to grab my bow. I barely remembered to grab other weapons, where we are going we're going to need them. I sling my backpack and quiver over my shoulders. As I sprint out the door I go over the plan in my head, making sure I did everything so far. I'm about to exit the house when I am stopped. Stopped by a young, muscular man.
Chapter 3||
He slings me over his shoulder. I don't realize this is part of the plan. I don't try to fight back as he carries me out the door. I easily recognize the crisp smell of fresh air on his jacket. I know exactly who it is despite the scarf that is covering his entire face. He frantically loads me and all of the supplies on to the prepared dogsled. He calls out in a deep voice"Mush!" The dogs immediately take off and just in time! As we follow the fresh tracks from my parents our house explodes! Just like in a movie. Which means all of our enemies should be dead. I completed the plan. It's a long way to our destination so I'm told to rest. We have a long, treacherous journey ahead of us.
Chapter 4||
Now that I have time to explain, I should introduce myself. The names Sadie and the mysterious young man is Andrew. He lives with us- my parents and I in our house,which was just blown to pieces. Why did that happen you ask? Our city-sector was invaded by an enemy city-sector. Our option was to either let them invade or to destroy them. I had to be the one to set up the bomb and run. We weren't very prepared, they caught us off guard. Well, we knew they were invading. We just didn't know when.
There are seven city-sectors, each named for the former days of the week. Ours, Friday was invaded and attacked by Monday. Each city-sector has their own governments and leaders. The leader of Monday hates us. We think that was the cause of attack.
Chapter 5||
{Sadie's POV} Andrew. He is my hunting partner, protector, and best friend. He feels responsible for his parents death so he is very protective of my family, but mostly me. He taught me how to use a bow and made me strong even if he wasn't. It turns out I'm actually good at hunting. He's about two years older than me,18, but sometimes he acts twice his age. On the other hand sometimes he acts about half his age or less. That's what I love about him, he knows when to be serious and when to have fun. When I say love I don't mean that like other people would think. Like girls at the trading-post have a crush on Andrew. I'm not like that, he knows that. He loves me the same way I love him. Or at least that's what I'm thinking. At least that's how he acts.
Chapter 6||
{Andrew's POV} Sadie. She lies sleeping peacefully as we travel. Sometimes I forget how vulnerable she is. But really she is not. She is fierce but yet so sweet.
Her long light brown hair braided as usual is tucked into my old, brown hunting jacket. It was getting small on me but its huge on her.
We've been traveling for a long time, I start looking for shelter. It's not long before I come across a cave tucked into a wooded area. The momentum of the stop combined with my loud voice,had waken up Sadie. "Good morning sleepy head!" She glares at me, still groggy. I step off of the sled and I help Sadie up. When she stands up I lightly peck her on the cheek. {Sadie's POV} I look at Andrew astonished. "Sorry!" he says quickly. I can't believe what he just did. Then, I realized something. Andrew has-changed.
