Chapter 49

{Andrew's POV} I gently set Sadie on the ground and look up. Matt is on top of the pillar that was positioned for climbing practice. Hm, he doesn't seem like the climbing type to me.... "How's the weather up there?" I joke. He motions for us to come up. I let Sadie climb up first; she does it with no problem. I follow her up, stumbling a little bit. "That was quite a show you two put on out there." "What is she going to do to us?" I ask worriedly. "Well, she can't hurt you. You guys are too valuable." I scrunch my eyebrows. "Make any friends?" Sadie asks changing the subject and kind of mocking Lizzie. "Not really, we have to show everyone we are a team." "I'm pretty sure all of the girls and a lot of guys are already intimidated by Sadie." "Hey!" Em says offended. "You are our secret weapon my dear." Matt brushes by her cheek with his long fingers. "A secret to who? She totally would have torn Lucas to shreds if you didn't stop us." Em smiles satisfied. "Thanks for reminding me of my amazing kick-ass girlfriend." Matt teases, but Em blushes. "Beeeeeeeppppp" The buzzer blares signaling lunch. We file down and head to the food court. "Hey Sadie!" A short, skinny girl waves her down. {Sadie's POV} I hear my name. It's a girl from training. I decide to smile and walk over. "You're really good. Can you teach me?! I think I would be able to get the hang of it, if my arms weren't so short. Anyways can I-" I cut her off. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down!" She talks really fast. "What's your name?" "Olivia, I tend to talk fast when I'm nervous." "Why are you nervous?! You do know I won't hurt you right!?" "Psh, no!" I like her character, I decide. "Well why are you nervous then?" I'm bent at the waist, but I still feel like I'm towering over her. She points her finger behind my head. "Wha-" I turn my head. I notice Andrew breathing on my neck for the first time. "Trust me; it's not him you should be afraid of." I realized how intimidating he must look to Olivia. To me he just looks normal but, with large biceps and toned abs. Well actually, not normal but I'm not gonna get into that. I realize Matt has about the same body built as Andrew but, a little bit shorter. Perfect for Em. "Come on, eat with us." I say. Andrew gives me a worried look but, I just nod. "Let me introduce you to the other members of my team."

Chapter 50

{Matt's POV} Sadie walks in with a smile on her face. She is leading another girl to our table. "Who's this?" I gesture to the girl and smile a little. "This is Olivia. Olivia, this is my cousin Matt and my best friend Em." Olivia giggles. "What?" Sadie asks and Olivia yanks her arm so that she's bending down. Olivia whispers something in Sadie's ear. Sadie smiles and looks at me. "She thinks you're cute." Sadie laughs. "Watch out Olivia, somebody won't be happy." I point at Em while I'm talking. Em is stabbing her pasta with the plastic fork, almost going through the Styrofoam plate. "Oh! You two are together! I'm sorry!" She blushes. "It's ok, rookie mistake. Besides, I like you kiddo." I stick out my fist for a fist bump. She flinches like I'm going to punch her. Hmm, do they still do this in other city sectors? Sadie returns the fist bump showing Olivia. "Where you from?" "Tuesday" "Ahhh I see. How old are you?" "12" She rapidly spits out each answer. "Come here with anyone?" "Ummm yeah, but he uh got killed." Sadie gasps. "Did you love him?" She asks. "More than you know." Olivia answers. {Sadie's POV} I touch Olivia's shoulder. "I'm really sorry." She nods. "I gotta go see you later." She says and gets up and walks away. I see a tear fall before she's gone. I stand up and leave my food but, hesitate. She needs space. "Guess who?" Andrew hugs me from behind. "I'm not hungry." "You have to eat!" Andrew exclaims. "Matt?" "Hmp?" He says through a mouthful of food. "Can we take care of Olivia?"

Chapter 51

{Sadie's POV} "Sadie, she is a great kid but she can take care of herself." Andrew says. "Besides she tried to steal Matt!" Em adds. "Relax! He's too old for her! I mean it's just the age difference...." "True." Em agrees. Matt swallows. "Em, even if she was our age I wouldn't date her. You are the only girlfriend I had that I really love and care about." I smile. "Sadie, if you really feel like you need to take care of Olivia, then fine." I smile brightly and hug Matt. "Thank you soooo much!" "Hey, we have a surprise for you ladies." Andrew says. "Close your eyes." {Andrew's POV} We lead the girls to our secret location. I'm bubbling with excitement. I open the door. "Ok, open." "Whoa!" Sadie exclaims. She looks around and so does Em. "Please sit!" We are in the rooftop garden and we laid out a soft blanket for the girls. Matt and I sit in our wooden chairs and pick up our instruments. "One, two, three, four" Matt plays his saxophone and I play my guitar and begin singing. "Come stop you're crying it'll be alright. Just take my hand, hold it tight. I will protect you, safe from harm. I will be here don't you cry. For one so small, you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us cannot be broken. I will be here don't you cry. 'Cause you'll be in my heart. Yes, you'll be in my heart. From this day on now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say. 'Cause you'll be in my heart, always." I sing the second verse and we finish. I smile and so does Matt. This song really means a lot. Sadie is tearing up, but happy tears. "I love you, Sadie. You'll be in my heart, always." She runs over and hugs me. I kiss her all over her cheeks and forehead and work my ways to her lips. After she gets tired she rests her head on my chest. {Sadie's POV} I rest my head on Andrew's chest and listen to his heartbeat. Why did I ever doubt that I love him? I begin to get drowsy, eyelids heavy, and then they close. I drift off with a smile on my face.
