It was cold Friday evening, Lily Evans had been studying for the better part of three hours for an upcoming transfiguration test in front of the fire in the Gryffindor common room. It was getting late and she had decided to pack up when she came across a piece of old parchment. A blank piece. With nothing at all wrote on it.
"Well that's a little weird... Why's it just left here?..."
Lily tucked a piece of straying hair behind her ear and examined the parchment. She took out a quill and ink and began writing on it, but the ink didn't stain the parchment. No words appeared on it at all.
"Hmmmm.."
She pulled out her wand and pointed it at the parchment several times trying various spells. Suddenly words started to appear on the paper.
Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are proud to present, the Marauder's Map.
"What?.."
Mr Moony would like to thank Lily Evans for finding this parchment and requests that she leaves it on the desk to her left without any further questions.
Lily was stunned, looking to her left she saw that there was indeed a desk there.
Mr Wormtail would like to bid Ms Evans a good day and would like to repeat what Mr Moony said about leaving this parchment alone.
Mr Padfoot would like to cut straight to the chase, Evans keep your snobby nose out of other peoples business, leave this on the desk and run off to bed like good little girl should do.
"Well excuse you Mr Padfoot."
Mr Prongs would like to interject to ask if the beautiful Ms Evans would go on a date with him?
Lily could only laugh at the magical scrap of parchment, "How flattering Mr Prongs, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no unless you tell me why this parchment is so important to you?"
Mr Wormtail would like to advise Mr Prongs to keep his mouth firmly shut.
Mr Padfoot would like to object to this idea seen as Evans is such a snotty know-it-all.
Mr Moony suggests that Lily Evans should just do what he told her in the first place and would like to apologise for Mr Padfoots behaviour, he finds women difficult.
Lily laughed to herself as the conversation continued to play out on the enchanted piece of parchment.

"WORMTAIL, What do you mean you LOST the map? HOw could You LOSSEEEEE the map!! MOOONYYYYYY how could he LOSE. The map??"
"Sirius. Stop shaking me. "
"MOOONYYYYYY WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?" Sirius stopped shaking Remus and began pacing the dorm room. "What if someone finds it? What if we NEVER find it? Our pranks, shenanigans THE MAP is a huge part of them! We won't be able to pull anything off without it!"
Remus rolled his eyes and continued reading Defense Magical Theory.
"MOOONYYYY HOW CAN YOU READ DURING THIS DILEMMA??"
Remus simply looked at Sirius and continued reading.
"Dilemma? When did you learn such a big word Padfoot?"
"Prongs this is not the time for-"
"Yea yea I know Padfoot.... Right since Wormtail went and lost the map-"
"J-J-Jamesss I'm r-reallyyy s-s-sorr-"
"Yes okay whatever Wormtail we'll find it. Padfoot and Wormtail, I want ye to search this room, tear it apart-"
"James! Sirius, Peter don't you dare mess up my study notes or I'll-"
James continued with his orders ignoring Remus' outburst "Moony you and I will search the common room."

Remus and James descended down the stairs to find a petite redhead laughing uncontrollably on a couch.
Exchanging a glance with James, Remus cleared his throat.
"Am Lily.. Are you okay?"
Lily turned around to face them wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.
"Hhah yea I'm grand Remus what about you?"
"Im good aswell thanks for asking Lily dear, what are you laug-" James jumped over the couch landing beside Lily but cut off when he saw the map in her hands. "What have you got there?"
"This? I found it earlier, these guys are pretty funny."
"Really? Who's the funniest?-" He was interrupted by a cough.
"Yea okay, look Evans I was just wondering if-"
"If I'd go on a date with you? Mr Prongs? Isn't asking ten times already today not enough" Asked Lily waving the map a him. "Here. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs have been explaining to me for the past hour how important this map was, so here. "
James and Remus were quite astonished, she just handed it back to them and asked no questions. Lily Evans the most inquisitive girl in Gryffindor, didn't ask any questions.
She was halfway up the dormitory stairs when she spoke again, "Mr Prongs is quite the charmer on paper." She smiled and then headed upstairs to her room.
"What in the name of Godric Gryffinor ?..."
"Moony don't complain! She just complimented me and didn't say no!"
"Well she didn't say yes either-"
"MOony stop being such a downer!"
