Chapter 2: filler chapter

Maddy's POV

As soon as I Abbey got home I was quick to tell her about the trip Dani arranged.

"Well, I don't know. I mean, Maddy I'd love to, but, my mom," Abbey said and gave me a look of despair.

I groaned and sat on my bed. "Abbey, you haven't even asked her get and you're losing hope."

"I'm not losing hope! I didn't even have any," Abbey argued defensively.

"Okay so, what's your point?"

"My point is, you know how strict my mom is. I doubt she'd ever let me go to Barcelona." Abbey joined me on my bed.

"Abbey! We're almost 20 years old! C'mon. You know when James was 18 she let him go to fucking Vegas." James was abbeys older brother who is good friends with Ryan.

"Yeah but he was with my cousin and Uncle Steve." Abbey let out a big sigh. "Look, maybe if your mom talked to my mom she could convince her to let me go. I mean, my mom always trusts your mom!" I could see that Abbey was gaining hope and excitement.

"Okay. I'll call my mom and ask her to ask your mom about it." And I did. My mom agreed to ask Mrs. Anderson about letting Abbey go to Barcelona.

In the meantime, Abbey and I decided to get breakfast. It was now 8:30 and we had been up for 2 and a half hours without eating anything. We went to the cafeteria closest to our dorm.

Once at the cafeteria, we ran into our guy friends, Jake and Ian, who were also getting breakfast.

"Hey," Abbey and I greeted them.

"What's good," Ian replied. Nobody knows this, but I secretly like Ian.

"I heard you two both are on the team again," Jake started. "Word gets around really fast."

"Yeah," Abbey replied. Those two started into a conversation about how the team is going to be a lot better due to the new talent and what not. Ian and I ventured into out own conversation as we picked up some breakfast.

"So, what are your plans for summer break?" Ian asked me, picking up an orange, gross.

"Uh, me and Abbey are actually going to Barcelona to visit Dani." I picked up a tray and filled it with an apple, a yogurt cup, and some granola.

"Oh wow, that's so cool! You'll have a lot of fun! I went there once."

"You did?!" I don't ever remember Ian telling me about this.

"Well, I was 11." Ian flashed a cheeky smile. Cute.

"That was 9 years ago, Barcelona could've changed. A lot," I confronted him.

"Okay, whatever," he said and playfully rolled his eyes at me. God he's so cute. Wait, what?

I bit into my apple as Ian asked me a surprising question.

"Would you, maybe, like to go see a movie? With me?" Ian stuttered and I found that cute. "I mean, not like, as just friends. Like, a date." Oh my god.

"Uh, yeah, sure. When?" I wiped my mouth a napkin because apple juice dripped down my chin when I opened my mouth. Adorable.

"Uh, the only day I have time is Wednesday maybe around 4:30-ish." Ian scratched the back of his neck.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry I can't." Ian's face dropped and I'm sure my face did too when I said that. "I'm leaving for Barcelona at 3:45. I'm sorry, are you sure you that's the only time you can," I asked hopefully.
