Chapter 36 • "I'm trying to protect you."

"Not 100% but I can take a good guess it's that."

"You knew she would find out one day though. Didn't you?"

"I suppose."

"Just show that you've changed. Don't mess it up. This is your one and only chance and you know that." He says and I know he's right.

"Thanks Ashton. When should I-"

"Just leave it a little bit and wait for her to calm down." He says. "You've got to be gradual with girls. Something you haven't done very well before."

"Thanks Ash, I gotta go. Bye."

"Practise tonight." I hear him say and hang up.

I start my car that I am currently sitting in and make my way towards that mall. Round the back was a little lake and so I decided to sit down on a bench near the waters edge. Staring into my reflection I think about what I could possibly do to make Tilly understand. I knew girls were hard but this has been the toughest of them all. Until I met Tilly I was still the same sort of guy. Little did they know some of the times they said they were going to the beach or out I was going to a party but no one needs to know that. Nothing really happened there anyway from what I can remember. I would never let on of I had a hangover or anything and so no one would ever know. I was trying to push Tilly away at the start because I knew I wasn't ready to find myself in love again. But it sorta just happened and here I am facing all the problems that come with the one word called love.

Tilly's POV

"Come on Tilly let's go shopping." Jack says to me.

"It's almost 6 o'clock."

"So we have at least 4 hours." He replies.

"Okay but can we go to mine I wanna get changed and grab some money."

After waiting for Jack to gather all of his things we drove to mine and I quickly got changed into a clean pair of clothes and grabbed the money my mum gave me the other day.

"Let's go." I say climbing back into the car.

"I just had an idea." He says and I nod. "Let's go to the grove."

"What's that?"

"It's another shopping place. You'll love it."

Jack plugs his phone into the car speakers and we head off down the road to the grove. I'm told it's not far and a lot of people go there. When we arrive Jack parks up and we get out.

"Where do we start?" I ask.

"Wherever you want."

For three hours we looked around this place. I tried on various things and brought about half of them. I was always needing new clothes. I brought an outfit that I could film with Jack in. After that we headed off to our local mall near the school and picked up a Starbucks. These things were too good.

"So how'd you enjoy the grove?" Jack asks as we pull up to my house gate.

"It was great. I've discovered somewhere new." I say.

"I'm glad you had fun. See you tomorrow and we must arrange a date for this video."

"Bye Jack. I missed spending time with you." I hug him.

"We can do it more often just text me." He says and I smile back and get out of the car.

"Bye." I wave to him and he returns.

"Mum!" I say when I get indoors and hug her.

"Someone's happy." She says and hugs me back.

"I just had a great time with Jack. I really missed him."

"I'm glad honey."

"How's work?" I ask the dreaded question.

"Not to bad we have finished up now. Just about putting the business out there." She says. "I'm hoping we don't have to move again any time soon."

"Me too." I say slumping on the sofa after a long day and unlocking my phone. I click onto Twitter and DM Eva.

Clicking on my feed I notice that 5 Seconds of Summer have been gaining a lot of fans from our school. I wonder what they would think if they knew the lead singers history.
