Loud footsteps on the pavement along with puddles of mud
Rain frolicking over her umbrella
She looked over her shoulder
And saw nothing more but a glimpse of shadow
But darkness mirrors her eyes
"Who's there?" she asked with uncertain volume
She chose to move her shaky limbs
Cold wind kissed her bare shoulders
And it flushed her pale white cheeks
She hears her clattering teeth along with fast heartbeats
Her feet moved to the speed of the beats but it wasn't the only one
She looked back again and it was like the first
Nothing. Just black corners with the menacing shadow
She chose to ignore it and turned around
A light on the porch raised her spirit
She stretched her arms to reach
To reach for her only hope
But the door slammed shut and the light went out
And so it all faded to canvas.
