Thoughts never ending.

The bad, the good, the painful.

To watch them was the worst.

The thoughts were even haunting.

No end in sight.

No end to her whirling thoughts.

Jealousy, anger, even a hint of sadness.

Why can't that be me?

A haunting question.

But as soon as the first firework lit up in the evening sky,

everything was shut off.

She said goodbye to the pain and sorrow

as the night sky gleamed with life.

Though it only lasted for 20 minutes,

it gave the rest she needed.

A distraction from the painful world she lived in.

Peace and serenity in the celebration of freedom.

A celebration of freedom from her mind.
