Because this takes place in the medieval era, I thought it'd be useful to keep a list of what the Hell the old words and terms I use mean. Glossaries should be in the back of a book, butt fuck it. The words are placed in alphabetical order.

Bower private room for the Lady of the castle; Lady's bedroom

Castellan castle custodian

Chansons de Geste long poems based on myths and legends

Dulcimer string instrument in which you hit the strings with hammers to produce the sound

Ewerer worker who brings heated water to the nobles

Great Hall / Hall A giant room accessible used for dining and meetings, as well as a place for servants to sleep; open for all residents of the castle

Jester provides entertainment to the nobles by acting a fool and being funny

Lord's Chamber The bedroom for the Prince, or a bedroom for noblemen.

Marshal responsible for stables and horses and in charge of discipline

Minstrel servant who provides entertainment to the Lord by singing and playing instruments

Minstrel's Gallery A room on a raised gallery that overlooks the Great Hall for the Lord's musicians.

Noble Class a hereditary, high social or political class

Nobleman A male of noble class

Noblewoman A female of noble class

Oratory private chapel; usually for royal use

Page castle staff who was in charge of the Lord's clothes and helped dressing them.

Psaltery string instrument that is a cross between a harp and a guitar

Reeve castle staff supervisor. Parts of his job includes making sure the staff start and stop on time, and that they didn't steal anything.

Solar room that served as the private quarters for the family or the Lord, or sleeping quarters for the Lord's personal servants

Tambours percussion instrument... drums

Valet de Chambre high ranking position within castle staff of many uses. Their job varies.

Viol string instrument which was played with a bow that layed on one's lap or in between the legs
