[REVISED]

Dear Diary,
Mettaton says he has a big surprise for me and everyone else. I'm so excited! He says its Alphys' best creation, and it's just building suspension now! But he seems so tired, his soul is also split in half. Maybe that's just a side effect of not charging enough?

Papyrus put his diary down and listened to the TV downstairs. He figured Sans was down there, boondoggling, as usual. But what was there to do now that the monsters made it onto the surface, with no goal, such as aiming to join the Royal Guard? This bothered him. He jumped off his racecar bed, changed out of his pjs, and headed downstairs.
"Yo bro." Sans said as his brother turned to look at him.
"Good morning Sans." Papyrus responded. "I'm heading to Mettaton's house to see his surprise, when do you plan on coming?"
"I'll go when I go. Work won't finish itself." Sans said a little bit too quickly. "You're not coming, are you?"
"No."
"I see. I'll tell you all about it, and if it's too special for you to miss I'll call you."
"Deal." Sans got off the couch and left, keeping the door open behind him. Papyrus sighed and left the house as well, this time actually closing the door.

--------------------

I opened my eyes, a strange feeling wrapping around my body, feeling awake, but as if this was normal, to wake each morning. It was indescribable. Two figures loomed above me, one familiar and the other... insanely familiar. Like it was a sibling. A... twin? It was strange as well. This whole event unfolding was strange.
"Hello." I said, a deep baritone voice coming out from a speaker even though I moved my lips.
"Hello! Oh, we're so happy you're awake. I thought you... wouldn't wake up." The odd sibling said.
"I'm sorry to ask, but you two seem so familiar. Who are you?" I asked. One laughed. She was nerdy, a yellow lizard in a white lab coat, with thick glasses.
"I'm Alphys, and this is Mettaton, your new twin!" She said, smiling widely. The sibling, known as Mettaton, smiled widely.
  "Yes, darling. Your name is-"
"Neo. It's Neo." I said, the name popping up into my head and sticking.
  "Yes, beautiful!" Mettaton exclaimed.
"Okay, Neo. I just need to run some tests to see if your body is working okay, then you can move." Alphys said. I nodded and kept kneeling while Alphys hooked me up to a machine, and after a couple minutes, she came back over and unhooked me. "You're good to go, Neo!" She said, sounding proud of her work.
"Thanks." I said. I realized I hadn't smiled this entire time, unlike my brother and my creator. I smiled. It felt so nice. "Come now, let's fix your hair. I have a perfect style."

Mettaton sat me down on the edge of the bathtub, obviously for in case somebody other than a robot came over. He took out a comb and started brushing my hair, and then took out gel and started to lather my longish hair. "This'll take a minute, but this is permanent. You don't mind if I choose your style, no?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I trust you, man." Mettaton grinned and started to work his magic.
A couple minutes later, I was sat up and directed towards a full-body mirror, where I saw what I looked like for the first time. I was made of light grey metal on my face, and other than that it was all black, with a teal highlighted heart and a half heart flipped upside down underneath it. I touched that, and Mettaton informed me that the heart was my soul. He showed me his own, which was also split in half. I continued to obverse myself, pausing when I saw a big lump on my back, and Mettaton's smile widened even more.
"I wonder if Alphys turned that on. You'll love to see what that is sometime." I nodded and looked back at my face. My left eye was a dark pink, while Mettaton's was more a mauve. My right eye, though, was a crosshair that I could still see out of. It was insanely cool. I closed my left eye, still looking at myself through the mirror.
"This is awesome." I said, amazed.
"Oh, I'm so glad you liked that, darling! I chose that." Mettaton said.
"Well, you chose right." I said, now observing Mettaton compared to me. He was much slender than me, with the same colored metal used on his arms as well as his face. A chunk of hair was covering his right eye, but I was positive that it wasn't like my eye. His soul wasn't flipped upside down, and he had a chest with a dial and speakers, something I lacked as well. He had pink boots and he looked amazing. I, on the other hand, looked like a badass. My hair, which was sweeped up to the right, almost blended with the plate that held the crosshairs.
"Dude. You need to be, like, a hair stylist or something." I said, in awe of his works. Mettaton laughed.
"Darling, thank you! But I'm a talk and quiz show host, a dancing star, and all of the monsters here and in the underground watch my show every day! Well, most of them. Okay, eight of them. But, I promise you, we are gaining fast!" Mettaton giggled.
"Wow.".
"Oh, dear, look at the time. Everyone will be here soon! Come, come, let's get you to the backstage. I already have everything ready."

-------------------------

Papyrus was the first to arrive, as that was no surprise. He was about 30 minutes early and was happy to be the only one there, which to Mettaton meant more time to make out with him. Alphys stayed backstage, probably secretly filming the action between the two, ready to post it on Tumblr. I laughed.
"Wow, Neo! You expect to do that someday?" Alphys whispered to me. I shook my head as a firm no.
"Aw man, I was hoping the twins would be like... identical by everything." She groaned, still smiling. Her phone went off and she picked it up on the second ring, her face lighting up at the caller.
"H-Hey Undyne! You're coming? That's g-great!" Her voice stuttered at her words, and I got uninterested at Alphys and Undyne (the name seemed so familiar, same with Mettaton and Alphys) chatting about their anime conversation/argument, so I wandered through the back room, not exactly expecting to find anything interesting. I was correct, there was just tables, a pencil on one of the tables, and blueprints for different things, one of them being me. I admired them, looking at the scribbled handwriting on how to get my waist to float, my crosshairs to work, so on so forth. I flipped the blueprints over and I was fairly surprised. "Attack form" was written in big red letters on the top. I looked down, and saw my complexion again, but my right hand was gone and replaced with a huge blaster, and some doodles of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie and how the blaster worked. Only works when severely angered or with enough DETERMINATION to FIGHT. Determination and fight were underlined in red as well, and I only got more confused. There were wings on my back, and I tried to turn around to see if I had them. I didn't. It explained how the wings were magic, but we're only for show, not for exact flight. The other information was to scribbled to make out, so I just flipped the paper back around and left the area. Alphys was still there, and with a "love ya, bye!" she hung up and turned around. "Hey, Neo. Exploring?"
"Yeah. Found some blueprints."
"A-Ah, I see." She said, blushing and looking away.
"Nothing cool though, I couldn't find myself or Mettaton." I lied. She sighed with relief.
"Undyne and the others are almost here. They're walking over together, and they would have been here earlier but Frisk couldn't find... Flowey." Alphys winced when she said Flowey. Again with a familiar name, I thought. "Umm... Yeah. I'm gonna go stop the kiss-fest and... Umm... You just stay here." Alphys said, shrugging, and ran out of the room. I sat down on a chair and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And guess what? I waited some more. I was about to get seriously pissed off and was going to get up and leave when a knock sounded on a faraway door. Alphys jumped to her feet, clapping happily. "Yes!" She exclaimed, and a commotion burst into the house the second I heard a door open.
"Frisk... Set me down... I want to leave." A groan floated into my ears. That must be Flowey, a little voice whispered in my head. His voice sounds very familiar. Alphys scurried into the room and I got up lazily.
"They're ready!" She said, overjoyed to show her new creation. I smiled warmly at her expression, and I let her lead me into the room.
