"What's this?" She asks, with a quizzical expression.
"It's an old shirt."
"Ew. No." She laments, before I giggle at her reaction.
"Oh trust me, you'll be wanting this." I add with raised eyebrows.
"No, Alexia. I won't." She mutters, rolling her eyes. Then, she hands me the paper bag back. "We don't even have the same taste in dress sense."
"So I guess, you don't want Luke's old shirt?" I coo as I waved it in the air to show it off. Like the wind, Lily springs up into stance and yanks it out of my hands excitedly.
"I guess we DO have the same taste in boys." Lily argues back, before quickly burying her face into it and inhaling deeply. "OMG. THANK YOU. IS THIS WHAT HEAVEN SMELLS LIKE?"
"It must be." I comment sarcastically, before shaking my head and ushering her out the door. I was ready to take a long hot bath and relax from my almost 24 hour flight.
"H-hey. Hey." Lily shrieks, before holding her hand out to keep the door ajar. "Dinner will be ready in a bit. So come downstairs okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." I replied,
"Also, I need to tell you something!" She suddenly exclaims.
"Can't it was until after dinner?" I wince, as the feeling of wanting to bathe from a long flight grew.
"Fine, if you say so." Lily rolls her eyes at me hesitantly, before shutting the door on her own face.
"Welcome back!" Victoria's voice echoed through the phone. Of course she'd ring me right in the middle of my bath and as much as I wanted to soak in the hot water and be a prune, being best friends, I couldn't make her wait.
"Do you know that you're on the Daily Mail? And the Sun! And the Guardian!" She rambles on. "And OK Magazine, according to my Mum!"
"I...a-am?"
"Alexia. I like to keep up with pop culture and on who my best friend is dating. Anyway, that's not important. My point is, in all of the articles, are photos of you and Calum at the airport in Sydney, when you arrived and before you left. They're all calling you the "mystery girl" or "rumoured girlfriend of Calum Hood"."
"Oh my God. We were? But...h-wow? No one was around. I was sure." I replied nervously, a knot in my stomach forming.
"Alexia. People have invented glasses with cameras on them. You expect people not to notice you're hanging around with that 6 footed popular band member?" Victoria oozed with sarcasm as she spoke.
"Ugh you're right. But I was super cautious. Well, w-what else are they saying about me?"
"You weren't cautious enough. Some of his fans have found you online. Your social media accounts are blowing up. Check your Twitter and your Instagram. Or...maybe not. WAIT, ALEXIA!!! DON'T!"
I pursed my lips together in contemplation, the idea of wanting to tune into my boyfriend on the media never appealed to me before. I shudder at the thought of visualizing Calum with Hailey Baldwin in my mind and recalling our mini argument.
But my curiousity was stronger than that, so I idly exited from Victoria and I's phonecall and went on my social media accounts. Then, I scanned all of the comments, tweets and messages to me and I felt like throwing up at the sight of them.
Look, this is the girl who's dating Calum @superrandomaccountname .
