The following morning and after having said all our goodbyes, Flat 4B was left empty inside.

With a duffel bag and a backpack slung on each of our shoulders and a cap on both of our heads, Calum and I made our way to the train station to get tickets to South Kensington.

Having been apart from one another for so long, we took the liberty of finding every possible excuse to physically touch each other and so, we held hands everywhere we went. It was nice being in a bustling, crowded place and not feeling so alone.

When we got on the train at around noon, the long journey home was spent sharing a cup of hot coffee and chocolate croissants and music. After a while, Calum decided to pen down fragments of lyrics for a future song and while he did so, I pretended to read a book I bought on a whim to disguise myself from watching him the entire time.

He didn't mind much though.

He said he was inspired.

He'd look up and catch me glancing at him every now and then and smile coyly to himself, before carrying on with his work meticulously.

And it was nice.

It was nice because it felt normal.

Just a normal couple, on a train, headed somewhere.

No paparazzi, no fans, no rumours whatsoever.

Just us.

When we finally arrived at South Kensington station, my parents were there to greet the both of us at the entrance way.

"Alexia!" My Mum called aloud, when she caught sight of us.

"Mum! Dad!" I exclaimed in response. "I missed you!"

I was beginning to fast walk ahead of Calum, imagining myself running into both my Mum's and Dad's arms for a long embrace. When we finally approached them:

"Calum!" Was the first thing my Dad said, before he wrapped his arms around the dark haired boy. "Bloody hell, you've grown!"

"You alright, Robert!" Calum grinned, as he hugged him back, before giving my Mum a small, shy wave. "How've you been?"

"We've been great! Oh, it's so lovely that you made it in time for Christmas, Calum!" She doted on him, before giving him a wink.

"Aww thanks, you lot! Nice to see you've missed me too!" I bitterly muttered jokingly, to which my Dad rolls his eyes to, before leaning in to hug me again. This time he picked me up off the ground momentarily, before letting out a short wheeze.

"We're o-only joking, Alexia." He breathed, before taking hold of my duffel bag. "We've missed you, love."

"Wait, wait." I said, before holding my hands out between the three of them. "Did you know Calum was coming for Christmas?!"
