Chapter 1: Smalltalk/Basics

So before we get into serious business, lets start with Smalltalk or the basics.

 (Vorstellen) Introducing:

Familiar:

"Hallo, ich bin ...."

Polite:

"Guten Tag, mein Name lautet ..."

The familiar way is used when you greet people who you know, who are the same age or younger than you. Always use the polite way with adults, unless they tell you otherwise.

Smalltalk (Familiar):

"Hallo!" Hello!

"Wie heißt du?" What's your name?

"Wie geht's?/Wie geht es dir?" How are you?

"Mir geht es gut." I'm fine.

"Woher kommst du?" Where are you from?

"Ich komme aus ..." I'm from...

"... England" ...England.

"... den Vereinigten Staaten" ... the United Stats.

"...Australien."...Australia.

"Tschüss/Tschuess!" Bye!

Smalltalk (Polite):

"Guten Morgen/Guten Tag/ Guten Abend." Good morning/Good day/Good evening.

"Wie lautet Ihr Name?" What's your name?

"Wie geht es Ihnen?" How are you?

"Mir geht es gut, danke der Nachfrage." I am fine, thanks for asking.

"Woher kommen Sie?" Where are you from?

(I only wrote down the things that change, the answers are basically the same.)

Schreibe zwei Dialoge, einen höflichen und einen normalen.

Write two Dialogs, one polite and the other normal/familiar.
