We walked down the corridor to the girls room. We had no idea who she was or if she had people looking for her but Dawn wasn't going to let her leave before she worked what she owed.

As we approached the door we heard her yelling inside. "Hey! Hello! Hey!" She tapped the door.

Edwards unlocked the door and he and Dawn stepped inside and I stood just outside like Dawn had ordered.

"Everything's okay. Okay." Edwards calmed her down, though I knew everything was not okay.

"Put it down. Drop it right now." Dawn told her.

"I'm Dr Steven Edwards. This is officer Dawn Lerner. How are you feeling?" Edwards continued.

"Where am I?" The girl seemed distressed.

"Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta." Edwards replied.

"My officers found you on the side of the road surrounded by rotters-" Dawn was cut of.

"Your wrist was fractured and you sustained a superficial head wound. Do you remember your name?" Edwards interrupted.

"Beth." She replied.

The room went silent for a couple of minutes as I looked out into the empty corridor. This place has gone down hill since Dawn took over. At the start things were going well but now it's hell. This girl is only here because our people don't watch the road.

"The man I was with. Is he here to?" Beth asked.

"You were alone. If we hadn't of saved you. You'd be one of them right now. So you owe us." Dawn told her. I didn't think it'd be to long before she said the dreaded three words.

Dawn then came back out of the room and turned to me. "Get her some clean clothes so she can start work." She ordered.

I nodded and walked down to the laundry room. The way she speaks to people is disrespectful. Any chance I get to get away from here the better. I walked into the room and Noah was ironing some more clothes. Neither of us said anything I just grabbed the clothes and took them down to Beths room.

Edwards was still in the room when I returned but Dawn had gone. "These should fit you." I handed the clothes to Beth with a slight smile. I looked at Edwards.

"I'll wait outside." He nodded and walked out of the room.

I nodded towards Beth and I too walked out of the room to continue with my usual routine. Carry boxes. Keep things calm. Take care of patients. Getting rid of the dead. Prepare lunch.

I walked into the canteen to find Gorman already writing down everything that was being taken. Beth walked in a few minutes after I did. No surprise Gorman went straight over to her.

"You're looking better and better. We had a lead on some guns so me and my partner were pretty far out. That's when we saw you. Wriggling in the road. You don't remember me huh?" He stood opposite her whilst she took some food.

"I was fighting a walker and everything went black." She replied.

"Yeah. One was eyeing your thighs when we showed up. But I got there first. Jacked that rotter up. I'm Gorman." Beth didn't even turn her head. "When someone does you a favor, it's courtesy to show some appreciation. Unless you want me to write down everything your taking. Everything costs something, right?"

"Gorman! Leave her alone." I snapped.

Gorman came and stood directly in front of me so he was inches from my face. I turned away and listened to his gravely voice. "What you going to do about it."
