"Damn, this movie never gets old," Cassie said as she wiped away her tears.

"Yeah," I answered lamely.

"What is it now? Is The Notebook not enough to remove your thoughts from your asshole boyfriend?" she asked.

Ex boyfriend.

I looked at her and said, "No, I'm fine. I'm just really sleepy."

"Oh. Well then, I should go home as well. You need to sleep," she said.

"Ok," I said. "Thank you for listening and making me watch The Notebook."

"It's alright," she said and hugged me. "If you badly want to know what's going on in his mind, you have to go and ask him. Don't let your thoughts eat you alive."

I hugged her back tightly.

"Alright, I need to go," she said.

"I'll walk you out," I offered.

"No. You, sleep," she commanded which made me laugh. "I need to say goodbye to Aunt Beatrice anyway."

She left me in my room with nothing but silence to accompany me and sleep found me just a few minutes later.

I was in a dark room and the floor was damp under my feet. It felt so eerie in this place since everything was pitch black.

"Hello?" I called out, walking but not really knowing where to go.

I held my arms in front of me, waiting to feel a wall or something.

"Hello?" I called out again.

"Open the door, Winter!" someone shouted from afar.

"Who are you?!" I asked. "Where's the door?"

"Just in front of you! Hurry, he's leaving!" the voice said.

"Who is?" I asked as I walked faster to find the door but I slipped and landed on my knees.

"Oh god," I winced and when I looked up, I was kneeling on the sidewalk, with Nate at the other side of the road. I quickly stood up and called to him but he didn't seem to hear me so I ran.

"Nate!" I shouted but at the middle of the road, I was crowded by faceless people with cameras. "No, excuse me!"

I tried to walk towards Nate but I couldn't and he just continued walking, without turning back.

"Aaaah!" I shouted as I shot up from the bed.

My father and brothers were instantly inside my room.

"What happened?" my father asked as he ran to me.

"Nothing," I replied, wiping the sweat off my face. "It was just a bad dream."

I struggled to calm my heart as my father brushed my hair away from my face. My brothers were just looking at me worriedly.

"Guys, I'm fine. It was just a dream," I reassured them. "How come you arrived here so fast anyway?"

"You've been screaming for a minute, darling," my father said. "We were in my study so we heard you."

"Oh," I replied. "Is... Is Nate downstairs?"

My father smiled sadly at me. "Bumpkin, he left a few minutes ago."

"What?!" I asked. I didn't know he'd be leaving this early. I stood up quickly and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair. "I need to see him!"

I hurriedly ran downstairs and hopped inside the limousine.

"Take me to the airport as fast as you can," I said to the driver frantically.

As we arrived at the airport, I ran inside, not even bothering to tell the driver where to pick me up. I only had a pair of shorts on and a shirt and a jacket but I didn't care. I needed to find him. I ran around the airport, trying to find him and suddenly, I saw him standing up from a bench while dragging his luggage with him.

"Nate!" I shouted as I ran towards him and embraced him tightly.
