When Gabriel joined Team Free Will, he didn't expect to be welcomed with open arms like he was.  Castiel was happy to have his brother on their side, Dean was happy that Cas was happy, and Sam...Sam was happy for no reason whatsoever.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Hey, Angel," Sam said as he walked past Gabriel one morning.  He reached out and patted Gabe's shoulder slightly before he left the room.  The archangel smiled slightly.  Those Winchester boys were actually the flirtiest flirts to walk the earth.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sitting in a bar one night, watching as Castiel confusedly started getting a girl wrapped around his finger, and Dean downing more shots then even he normally did, Sam and Gabe were stuck with each other.

One of the baristas was obviously interested in Sam, and she wasn't letting go.

"Do you have a number, or can I call you mine?" She sang out in an overly 'sexy' voice that made it sound like she was having problems breathing.

"Sorry, but that was pretty bad," Sam chuckled as the girl frowned, slightly red, and stomped away.

"Oh, like you can do better?" Gabriel challenged.  Sam raised his eyebrows as if to say 'do you question me?'

"You look a lot like my next boyfriend," he dead panned.  Gabriel let out a bark of laughter at the flirtation and downed another shot.
-------------------------------------------------------
Gabriel realized that Sam ran his hand through his hair a lot, recently.  But not all the time, mostly when it was just the four of them in the bunker.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Cas is in front with me, you're with the archdouche in the back," Gabriel heard Dean say to Sam one day as they headed out for a case.  He snapped himself into the impala from qhis room right as the other three walked out of the motel and towards him.

"Hey, sexy," Sam said as he slid into the seat next to him, closer than most people would sit.

Ugh.  All the flirting, honestly what was with Sam?
-------------------------------------------------------
The one day Sam walked over to Gabriel as he sat on the front of the impala.

"I think I could make you very happy," Sam smiled slightly and Gabriel smirked.

"Why? Are you leaving?" Sam's grin dropped but quickly returned before Gabe could notice. His eyes, however, lost the happy glow.

"Aww don't be so harsh babe," he slid his arm around Gabriel's waist.

"What is with all the flirting, Sammy?"

"You shouldn't be calling me Sammy," Sam started. Gabriel rolled his eyes, knowing how much Sam hated being called Sammy.
"You should be screaming it," Sam whispered in Gabe's ear suggestively. That was enough for one day, Gabriel snapped away.
-------------------------------------------------------

"Why is Sam so...so..." Gabriel had reappeared where Dean and Cas had been snuggling platonically, mind you, on the couch.

"Obsessed with you?" Dean finished, not even looking up from the tv.

"Flirtatious, more like. He's been flirting with every living thing for the past year, what in -" he was cut off by Dean's loud laughter and Cas' quiet chuckling.

"Every living thing? Gabriel, you're the only one he flirts with!" Dean said, looking at the frozen archangel.

"Sam...no he flirts with everyone, I just ignore the ones directed at me,"

"You've been pushing him away each time he flirts with you, it would be amusing if I didn't have to deal with a moping lovesick moose every night," Dean returned his eyes to the tv program, pulling Cas closer to his chest.

"Lo - love sick?" Gabriel stared at the back of Dean's head. Memories flashed through his head of all the flirty moves the moose had pulled on him, trying to think of times when he did the same with a guy or girl at the bar, but none came to him.

"Gabriel, you're breaking his heart," Cas said in a low voice. Gabe's mouth was open slightly. Nope. Not real. Sam wouldn't be interested in him like that. It was funny flirting, that was it.

"Yeah, and you're in love," Gabriel said, knowing that both of them would deny it.

"I uh..." Dean started.

"We..." Cas mumbled. Gabriel's eyebrows shot up. Oh please of all days for them to admit they were in love.

"I...yeah, I am," Dean said, not looking at Cas.

"As am I," Cas returned. They both looked at each other. The tension was extremely thick. Dean's mouth was slightly parted, his face red. Castiel's face was straight and practically unphased, before they both leaned in for their first kiss, completely forgetting about Gabriel being in the room. Prankster he was, he decided to leave them alone. They deserved this moment to be uninterrupted.

Gabriel had bigger things on his mind.

Sam.
-------------------------------------------------------

Sam wouldn't like him like that.  I mean he was Sam.  Gabriel killed his brother.  Gabriel turned him into a car.  Gabriel pulled so many stupid pranks and idiotic jokes on him.  There wasn't a chance that Sam was actually interested in him.

Days passed.  Gabriel avoided Sam like the plague, snapping his way out of being cornered by him.  He was going insane.  Sam was too.
-------------------------------------------------------
It was a whole week later when Gabriel finally came up to Sam.

"Sambo?" He looked at Sam, who was buried in a pile of blankets on the floor of the library, digging in books for more information about whatever was haunting a nearby town.

"Oh, you're talking to me now?" Gabriel cringed.

"I...Dean and Cassie told me...things," Sam's head smaller up at the words from Gabriel's mouth.

"What things?" He questioned warily, nervous.

"D - Dean said you were a 'moping love-sick moose' and Cas...Cas said I was...breaking your heart," Gabriel wouldn't look at Sam, almost expecting Sam to laugh at him.

"..oh," was all that was said. The air hung with awkward silence, neither of them looking at each other.

"Am I?" Gabriel looked at Sam now, feeling slightly braver, "breaking your heart, I mean,"

"Yeah, okay?" Sam was suddenly very interested in the hem of the nearest blanket.

"So, you actually flirted with me, not joking?" Gabriel was having a hard time believing the moose. He was Sam Winchester why would he like me? He thought.

"Y - yeah..."

"So..."

"So you can leave now," Sam answered.

"Why would I leave?" Gabriel crossed his arms and looked at Sam.

"Well...I mean...I just...stop messing with me!"

"I'm not messing with you, Sam, you could have just asked me to be your boyfriend and I would have said yes," Gabriel answered truthfully.

"Oh. Will you be my...boyfriend..?" Sam blushed as he looked at Gabe.

"Took you long enough!" Gabriel laughed and crawled next to Sam, burrowing hisself in the blankets.
