I had gotten a call from my dad the next morning saying they would be coming over later. I cleaned up a little and shortly after I was done they arrived.

"Hello sweetie!" My dad said hugging me.

"Hey dad." I smiled.

My mom was next to hug me.

"Hey loser." Kian smiled.

"Hey dork." I laughed.

"This place is lovely." My mom smiled.

"It's cozy. I love it." I told her.

They made themselves at home and Kian started a movie. I started to pop some popcorn.

"Skyler! Someone's at the door!" Kian yelled.

"Can you get it?" I yelled back.

"Oh um, who are you?" I heard Kian say as I walked in with three bowls of popcorn.

Calum was at the door.

"Oh hey Cal." I smiled as I handed my dad a bowl.

"Hey Sky! Is this a bad time?" He asked.

"No! Come on in." I said.

He moved past Kian who was giving me a weird look.

"Calum this is my parents and my brother Kian." I introduced.

"Nice to meet you." Calum smiled.

"Are you guys a thing?" Kian asked taking his bowl of popcorn from me.

"No." Calum and I laughed.

"We are just friends." Calum said.

Calum's phone began to ring signaling he was getting a FaceTime.

"That's Michael. Can I?" He asked pointing to the kitchen.

"Go ahead." I smiled.

Calum walked out and my family looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Who is Michael?" My dad asked.

"He is this boy who never comes out of his room. He's Calum's best friend." I explained.

"He never comes out of his room?" My mom asked.

"Never. He has anxiety." I said.

"So how did you meet Calum?" Kian asked.

"Can you guys not ask so many questions?" I said sitting down next to Kian.

"I don't think you should hang around those boys. They seem like trouble." My dad said.

Calum was only in the kitchen. I was sure he heard everything and maybe Michael did too.

"I think you all should leave." I said.

"We didn't mean to be rude. We are just looking out for you." My dad explained.

"And I don't mean to be rude but I need you to leave." I said calmly.

They got up and moved toward the door.

"I'm sorry." Kian whispered as they were leaving.

"It's fine. See you soon." I said.

I closed the door behind them and turned to see Calum standing in the doorway with his phone turned toward me so Michael could see me too. The looks of sadness they had in their faces made me realize that I had made the right decision as to kicking my family out.
