** A/N: Whoaaaaa my first story on here! :D Congrats to me for working up the courage XDD Okay, here are a few things to know... 1) A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO READS/VOTES!!! :D *huggles* 2) So this is a story from when I was a teenager, and I re-wrote it a few years ago. I figured it wasn't the worst first story to post, so here it is! :) I hope you guys like it! :D 3) I know things move fast between Jace and her love interests, and normally I don't like that in stories. So I understand if that's a criticism some of you have. [I talk a lot, sorry... XDD]

The sky was blacker than even the darkest shadows, the full moon lighting the world with a silvery sheen. The fog was thick and heavy, and it shrouded the Earth in mystery. I was breathing in short, jerky gasps, gulping down air like it was for the first time. My body was drenched with sweat, the liquid quickly streaming down my face. My clothes and hair stuck to me, and I struggled with every step; it was like I was made of lead. I felt heavy and nauseous, and my vision began to blur. I held my severely wounded stomach, my blood oozing freely and spilling onto the ground. I was covered with scratches and the beginnings of bruises, most of which were also bleeding. My breath hung in the air as I ran farther and farther from the graveyard. Why the hell were there so many zombies?? And those demons…they were probably the strongest I ever fought!! My thoughts were interrupted as I fell from exhaustion. I hit the ground with a light thud, and I groaned as I layed there. I didn’t want to get up, but I was a fighter and I never quit. So, with my last reserves of energy, I picked myself up, stumbling to my feet. It wasn’t long before I tripped over a rock and fell again, but no matter how hard I fought, I wasn’t getting up this time. My shoulders just wouldn’t support me, and I fell feebly on my side, teeth gritted in pain and chagrin. I held my stomach in agony, wondering how I had come to this. I had built a reputation for myself as one of the greatest demon slayers across the nation, and here I was lying in a pool of my own blood. I even taught myself  how to fight! (With help from watching countless action movies…) I looked through the fog to see the silhouette of a castle, the golden lights telling me that it was still a great distance from here. Those lights were like beacons shining into the darkness, and they built a tiny twinge of hope within me. I hope someone comes out and finds me…I need help. I’ll die if I’m out here too much longer. I-I’ve lost too much blood… I moaned as a tremor of pain surged through me, and I prayed someone would hear me. Anyone but a demon or zombie. Out of the darkness, another silhouette emerged, and by the broad shoulders and muscular arms, I knew it was a man. But my vision was hazy, and my eyes couldn’t focus, so I didn’t make out his face. He picked me up and held me awkwardly for a few moments before pulling me toward his surprisingly muscular and well built chest, and running toward the castle with me in his arms. After looking back on my rather depressing life, I fell into the blackness of unconscious sleep, wondering if I would wake up again…

My name is Salem-Jace Salem, and I’m twenty three years old. I have long, thick, wavy black hair, and bright green eyes. Around my irises, there’s dark green, and around my pupils, there’s gold, which I always thought was really cool. I like to think that I look like Susan Coffey, but with black hair, a natural black Monroe beauty mark, and slightly more mature features. But I’m a bit curvier than she is. I mean, I’m in great shape, but my chest is bigger, my hips are wider, and we’ll leave my ass up to interpretation. I have four tattoos, and a small nose stud. My past isn’t a pretty one, but from it, I’ve learned a hell of a lot. Maybe I kill the evil undead for a living to try and make up for all the pain and bullshit I was put through. I’d much rather say it was out of the goodness of my heart, and for my love of mankind…but who am I kidding? Besides…it’s actually kind of fun killing werewolves, zombies, vampires, demons, shapeshifters, and anything else wicked and ghoulish.  But hey, not all werewolves and demons are bad. The good creatures I leave alive, and virtually have no problems with. Sometimes they even help me out. Other hunters would just kill every damn being in their path, but believe it or not, I do have a heart. You can’t change your past, right? So why should a vampire who didn’t want to be turned in the first place, and who isn’t even feeding from humans, deserve to die? To kill these evil bastards, I have an assortment of weapons. I have two pistols, an awesome katana, throwing stars, handmade holy water grenades, wooden stakes, and anything else I find or invent. I never stay in one place for too long, since the dead tend to keep on the move, and I can’t remember the last time I actually unpacked my suitcases. I’m the kind of chick who can beat guys at their own game, not to mention that I can beat the shit out of them. And while I happen to like flirting and having a bit of fun, I don’t sleep around. I’m not a girly girl, either. A few romance novels and chick flicks never hurt anyone, but I hardly ever wear pink or clean up my language. And I sure as hell don’t need a guy around to take care of me; I’m perfectly independent, and have no problems with being single. Yeah, I drink beer from the bottle, drive crazy, use guns and swords, listen to heavy rock and do reckless shit- that’s just how I am. I’m Jace Salem, and if you don’t like me…fuck off and go read a fairytale…
