I stopped walking and my eyes widened. “What?” I whispered. Owen nodded slowly. “I thought he was going to leave us alone after the night Noah and I started dating!” I cried. Owen sighed. “We all thought he was going to leave us alone. But he’s back and he’s already threatening Pierce and I guess he mentioned getting revenge on you and Noah.”

I miserably began to walk with Owen again. Andre was Pierce’s ex boyfriend. I honestly think the kid’s mentally disturbed. He had pushed me down a set of stairs and nearly drowned me before.

We got to Owen’s house and he let me in through the front door. “Owen, why aren’t you replying to your texts?” his step dad, Will, demanded angrily, storming over to us.

“Because I don’t like you,” Owen said with a shrug. He and his step dad didn’t get along. Will’s face turned bright red in anger.

“You fucking brat!” he snapped. I noticed Ian basically clinging to his leg. Owen chuckled. “It happens. Might as well go throw your brat in the closet. That’s where he’s going to end up anyways,” Owen said casually as he led me towards the stairs.

“If my son ends up in the closet, you’re going to end up on the streets!” Will snapped. Owen rolled his eyes. “If by the streets, you mean my actual dad’s house, than please do throw me out of this shithole. I like staying with my dad. He’s not a stupid bastard.”

Owen dragged me up the stairs to his room and locked the door.

“Sorry about him Maxi,” Owen said, offering me a smile. I shrugged. “Owen…why do you keep inviting me over? Not to be rude!” I said.

Owen sighed. “I guess because I know what it feels like. When my mom and dad were arguing all the time…it hurt. That was before my mom became a bitch. You always used to let me stay at your house. It felt good to get away from all the screaming for a little.” He shrugged a bit uncomfortably.

Owen had never liked to talk about his parents’ divorce. If he talked about his family, it was usually about him and his dad.

“So…about Andre,” he said, probably glad he had something to change the subject. I eagerly listened to him, wanting to know everything.

“Pierce said he ran into Andre at Wal Mart the other day. I guess Andre told him he better watch out because Andre was going to get him back. Then I guess he said how he wanted to get revenge on you and Noah for making Pierce attack him 3 months ago.”

I could still remember that night 3 months ago…the night Noah and I started dating. The best night of my life.

But now…oh god. I knew why Pierce was so terrified when it came to Andre. Andre was extremely dangerous. He was not the person you wanted to mess with. He came off as an innocent, trustworthy person. Looking at him could make you want to spill all your secrets to him and call him a best friend. But he could be very, very bad news if you pissed him off.

“So that’s why they’re both avoiding me? Didn’t they learn the last time that that won’t stop Andre?” I cried. Owen bit his lip. “Max…Noah doesn’t know Andre’s after you guys,” he said quietly.

                Oh.

“So he’s just…” I didn’t even know. He was just what? Distancing himself from me for the hell of it? Maybe he had decided he liked girls more than he liked me?

“Calm down Max. I’ll talk to him for you,” Owen said, offering me a smile. Owen could be a great friend to me when I really needed him. But I knew he was best friends with Pierce and was more loyal to him than anyone else. I respected that about Owen. Noah was the same way. Or, well, he had been the same way a week ago.

Noah…what was going on with him?
