Chapter 14 - Trap

Alison's POV

We walked through the grand doors, the illumination of the inside strinking our eyes. The doors shut behind us as we walked in unison towards the stage.

The echo of claps were heard around, startling us. No one was on the stage, yet noise filled the grand hall.

"Welcome welcome" A voice erupted through the single microphone left on the stage, but no one was behind it. We looked at eachother in confusion, as the voice continued. "I was looking forward to meeting you all, but I'm afraid my job had to pull me away for a while." We kept advancing towards the stage as the voice - which I assumed was Grettan's - continued.

"My darling daughter, I had not expected this from you, after everything I did for you, I thought at least you would be on my side." Lana froze, her fists clenching as she tried to control her temper. Her raging eyes met mine and I shook my head at her, making her relax slightly.

"Prince Brian Wilson, one of the best days of my life was when I put that curse on you and locked you away for eternity. I was pretty sure that no one would ever help you in life, and you would starve to death. Oh wait, you can't starve, you were cursed with a fate worse than death" an evil laugh erupted through the hall and Brian was now mirroring Lana's actions. His eyes were turning red with fury, and I could see that he wanted to release, but I pressed my hand on his chest, instantly making his eyes change colour instantly.

"And lastly, innocent little Alison Stones. I have no words for you, apart from the fact that you made the wrong choice, and it's going to cost you your life. You still have a chance, escape whilst you can or come face to face with Satan's face" My eyes moved from Brian's to the mic's. No one was present in the room, and it was clear that this had been a trap, a message Grettan was trying to convey, but I wasn't going to let it get to me. I had brought myself into this, I was determined to save an innocent man's life. And I was most certainly not going to change opinion. Brian was a lot more than a stranger to me, and I was willing to help him at all costs. A slight growl was heard from Brian as he took a protective stance in front of me, glaring at the microphone.

"I apologize once again that I couldn't be there, but don't worry, you will be seeing me very soon" Another fit of an evil laugh was heard and suddenly, a ball of fire appeared out f the nowhere, flying in our direction. Brian managed to pull me out of the way, ducking underneath the theatre seats as Paisley and Lana did the same on the other side. The ball of fire flew past us and turn into dust with it's impact with the door.

We stood up from our crouched position, reuniting at the middle. Instantly, Brian threw a punch at the nearest chair, creating a whole at the top of it.

"Where is she? Where the hell is she?" He yelled. I dashed up to him, placing my hand on his chest once again, in attempts to calm him down, but he moved away before I could. "Don't Alison, I don't want to hurt you" he said, moving away from me.

"Hey, calm down. It was a trap. We will find her, one way or another. Just a little more patience-"

"This isn't even about me anymore Alison! It's about all of you. All of you are...in this. And I dragged you in here" He yelled. My mouth was open and I was about to speak, but I was cut off.

"Stop!" Lana yelled, silencing us all before we could proceed to have another fight. "We are not having this fight again, we are all in this now and there is no going back. We will find my mother, but for now, we need to get out of here. It's already late so I suggest we stay at a motel." The room was silent, just a couple nods going through. Lana led the way out, returning back to the car.

The ride was quick and silent until we arrived a little motel in the corner of the road. The neon sign was broken and the few street lights were blinking furiousley. We parked the car in a spot at picked up our bags, walking to the reception. All of us were still silent as Lana spoke to the recepcionist.

"Hi, we would like three rooms for the night" She requested. The lady behind the desk dropped her newspaper, and pushed her glasses up to meet Lana's gaze. She was old and wrinkly, and she was most certainly not polite.

"I only have two" She replied coldly. Lana sighed and my heart started beating quickly, my face going pale.

"Fine, two rooms then" The old lady handed Lana the two keys and sat back down, bringing her newspaper back to her vision. Lana turned back around facing the crowd. "Well, we have two rooms. First person to guess the number I'm thinking of stays with me, the other two in the other room." I looked at Lana in horror. I knew exactly what she was playing at. Clearly she was not going to accept any of my numbers. This cannot be happening to me right now. The thumping of my heart could be heard in my ears as we stared at each other in horror, Paisley and Lana smirking at me and Brian.

"7" I started. Lana shook her head. "13" I continued, she shook her head. "6,9,34"

"nop, nop and nop" she replied.

"18" Pais said.

"Yes! I guess Paisley is staying with me. Goodnight you two" She commented, throwing the keys at Brian, who easily caught them, and escaped away to their corresponding rooms. Brian and I didn't utter a word to each other for the longest time, and the situation was beggining to get awkward.

"I guess we're sharing a room" He finally said after what seemed like ages. I nodded and followed him up the stairs to our room.

This is going to be a weird night.
