HIGH HEELS & CHAMPAGNE

102 4 3

High heels, and champagne.

Her little red dress, still torn and stained.

The fallen silence, fills the air.

And alcohol, is tylenol,

For bullet wounds that won't repair.

The little things,

Add up to all too much.

Leaving her,

A beautiful face,

Behind the rust.

She has to catch her,

own breath,

All her money put down,

On all she has left.

Her hair unravels,

From her bun,

As she looks at a list of things,

still undone.

And everything,

Just floods away.

Cause on the floor,

Lie her high heels,

and champagne.

 2 AM,

The lights go out.

And by then she knows,

She's off the surface now.

The clouds,

Make the earth seem,

so far away.

Only a drop of wine,

Can make it okay.

She has this problem,

And she knows it,

But she's too afraid to let go of it.

It's all she's ever known,

Drunk's her only home,

But it's time now... to move on.

Because we all know,

The pain is only temorarily gone.

She has to catch her,

own breath,

All her money put down,

On all she has left.

Her hair unravels,

From her bun,

As she looks at a list of things,

still undone.

And everything,

Just floods away.

Cause on the floor,

Lie her high heels,

and champagne.

Oh gone,

Can the world just be gone??

When she returns,

She doesn't have to ask anymore.

Lays silently,

On the bed,

A bottle,

In her hand.

It wiped away the pain.

And everything,

Just floods away...
