Mood swings much?

We pulled up into the houses garage and brook parked the car. By now the rush of shopping had worn off and I was beginning to feel guilty. Riley and brook chattered on, unaware as I looked around ashamed at all the bags around me. I couldn't believe I had bought so much! Biting my lip, I sighed and opened the door. I was going to go find Nathan and apologise. I'd go back to town tomorrow with Riley and brook and give them back, I still had all the recites.
"What's up?" Riley asked, walking around to our side of the car, shimmying In between the car and the wall.
"Nothing.." I mumbled tasting blood In my mouth. It was a bad habit I had when I was nervous, it resulted in my lips always being dry as a kid. It was a habit I thought I'd grown out of. "Do you know where Nathan would be?"
We all walked over to the door and brook typed in a security code. Wow.... I guess there really into security here.
The door pinged and a green light flashed about the entrance signalling the door was unlocked, I suppose.
"Probably in his office. Want us to take you there?" Brook laughed as I span around in circles when we came to a cross-roads like thing. This was like a actual maze! All four hallways leading off looked exactly the same and I had no idea which way was forward or backwards. This would be a awesome location for a game of hide and seek...
"Yeah please," I said desperately, geography was always a sucky subject for me and I could see myself getting lost in this place for weeks...

I was right. Even with Brook and Riley I ended up getting lost. Twice. In the end we made a deal, that if we were to get separated I had to stay still and wait for them to cirlcle back and find me.
"There you are! Gosh!" Riley yelled exasperated, latching onto my arm and not letting go this time. "What happened?"
"I don't know... One minute I was with you guys then I just looked at this painting for maybe a second or two and then you were gone so I hurried after you and got lost somewhere along the way maybe... A little..." I muttered, blushing. They were both laughing at me as they guided me the way towards Nathan.
"Somehow your in sub level 1 the south section. I swear the last time I saw you, you were with us on the 3rd floor west area!" Brook laughed and a few minutes later they stopped me outside of a big wooden door.
I gulped, it looked incredibly intimidating.
"Don't worry." Riley replied breezily as she knocked on the door.
"Come in," his gruff voice barked from inside the room. Tingles sparked in my stomach from having being away from him for a day. What was actually wrong with me? I shouldn't be feeling this way.
Nonetheless we all pushed forward and the door slowly creaked open. His office was amazing. It had book shelfs lining the walls from the floor to the ceiling and a massive glass window placed opposite the door as you walked in. In front of the window facing the door was a huge mahogany desk, with two black seats placed opposite it and one behind it. Nathan was sitting in his impressive looking chair behind the table, bent over reading through what looked like thousands of sheets of paper.
"Maybe this is a bad time..." I mumbled into Riley's ear, standing half behind her still. But Nathan somehow heard it from the other side of his giant office, his eyes shot up and met mine, a sudden smirk appearing on his face. He jumped up, and walked over to us and I couldn't help but smile back at him.

"No, no! How was shopping? Get some nice things?" He asked coming to stand close by me. If you ask me, a little too close but whatever.... However, his question bought back my feelings of unease and I readied myself to face him. What if he got mad that I bought so much? I hadn't known Riley and brook long, would they help me? I almost laughed at myself. Of course they wouldn't, why would they? They've known Nathan longer and I could tell he had some weird leadership thing going on here even if I couldn't understand it... I began to worry, I crossed my arms and flicked a loose piece of hair forward whilst looking at the floor. I suddenly felt lonely again, I had no one here... When I told Nathan how much I had bought he would get mad and Riley and Brook would turn on me too. I knew this place was too good to be true.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Even though I wouldn't admit it, Nathan's soothing tone and hand he placed on my cheek calmed my heart a tiny bit. Lifting my head up, I focused on counting each individual hair on his head.
"Well, I'm sorry," I started, 1 hair 2 hair 3 hair...."I didn't set out to buy so much but I got carried away and," 6..7..8..9 "I ended buying loads!" I burst out quickly hoping to get it over with. I closed my eyes quickly and braced myself.
After a few seconds of silence I opened one clenched eye and peeked at Nathan threw my lashes, still readying myself for the hit I knew would come. His perfect brows were furrowed in confusion and worry as he stared back at me.
"Okay....?" He said, obviously he didn't understand properly.
"I bought a lot. Actually I bought loads and I'm sorry. I'll go back to Destiny tomorrow with Riley or Brook and return them I promise!" I whispered, ringing my fingers together, wishing that he would just yell at me and hit me already. The wait was almost as bad as the actual hitting. I felt so awful, I couldn't believe I had taken so much off of him. His well earned money (probably), he most likely gave me his card thinking I'd buy a top and a new pair of jeans at most. The blood rushed from my cheeks, I can't believe I let Riley talk me into buying those pointless earnings.
"Why are you worrying? It's okay, I wanted you to buy a new wardrobe. I'm not mad, I'm happy. I want you to have everything you want," he said quietly, leaning down to my height and pulling me in for a hug. I stared at his shoulder wide eyed and confused. How can he be so generous? Especially to a nobody like me...
"Why were you cowering away from me?" He asked hurt, pulling back to look at me. His blue eyes shown with pain and confusion until he understood. "Did you think I would hit you?!?"
I didn't answer just looked to the ground. I didn't want to lie to him after everything he'd given me but I felt ashamed now to have thought so lowly of him when he gave me so much, I couldn't bring myself to admit that I had... I had thought he was going to hit me. I looked up at him and slowly began to mull over a thought.
What if he wasn't like my father? What if he was different? I couldn't even begin to think about this. I just didn't understand it. My father had once been the kindest man I knew, so if he turned out the way he did, anyone could. I couldn't let my walls down, not now not ever. I couldn't trust him just because he bought me some clothes. I would be strong, and protect myself like I didn't last time.
"I'm sorry," I said, leaning up and hugging him hoping to change the subject. I was on my tip toes to reach him and wrapped my arms around his neck while his arms wrapped around my Waist. Again the unexplainable tingles I came to love tingled across my skin.
"Why would I hit-" he started as I stood back.
"So umm... Are you gonna help us bring in the shopping?" I cut in quickly already grabbing Riley and Brooks arm so we could start walking back to the car. As the group lead me back Nathan started asking questions about our day out.
"So did you say something about Destiny? Why did you go to Destiny and not Sydney's home town?" He asked after a hundred questions. We got to the garage door and I saw Riley and Brook share a worried look. Was I missing something? There was an awkward silence as we stopped at the door. Brook fussed with the security thing and Riley gave me a meaningful look while Nathan stood staring suspicious at the three of us. What was going on? What has he asked...? Why was- OH! I remembered the quick lie I had come up with earlier in order to not bump into my father.
"I just wanted to avoid a clingy ex-boyfriend who hangs out up town on the weekends." I shrugged and walked through the door when it pinged open. After a few seconds I realised I was alone... Huh?
Circling back I quickly ran back down the hall towards the guys, and gasped when I saw the fist sized holes in the wall next to a furious Nathan. Riley and brook stood off to the side.
"What happened?" I asked shocked, I couldn't have been gone for more than ten seconds! I just walked a metre or two through the door and came back! Nathan stood tensely still and stared at the wall in a deadly manner. Okaaayyyy.
I looked at Riley and Brook for answers. Riley shrugged looking at the ground and Brook just looked at Nathan with.... Sympathy?!? What the....
"What's wrong?" I asked no one in particular as I stepped over chunks of wall which had been crushed and fallen to the ground. Nathan's head snapped up and looked at me as if he just realised I was here. He looked mad, not mad at me (at least I hoped) but still incredibly mad. Brook walked to me and pushed me forward closer to Nathan as he started shaking and leant into the wall.
"Nathan! Stop it! If you don't, your going to regret it!" Riley snapped and stepped forward, she went to put a hand on his back but stopped when he growled and she backed away.
Did he just growl?!? What is going on?
Brook stepped forward to have a go as Riley wrapped her arm around me. I was getting worried for Nathan. Was he okay? His bloody fists didn't look it...
"Nathan, stop this your scaring Sydney." Brook tried to be soft and gentle but that didn't work either. He swung around to face us, upon seeing me his eyes flickered black and he smashed his already ruined fists in to the wall.
"Oh my gosh...." Riley muttered annoyed. She seemed so casual as if this happened a lot. "Your turn!" She simply said before pushing me forward.
Me being the clumsy girl I was, tripped on a piece of wall and fell forward. I closed my eyes and waited for the hard impact of the floor but instead was saved by Nathan's warm arms around my waist. Relieved I looked up but gasped when I saw his eyes were still black.
Leaning in closer to his face, I was fascinated. There was no line between his pupils and iris, it was all just black. He took a deep calming breath then buried his head in the crook of my neck. It didn't surprise me that the tingles stil broke out across my neck.
Since he was all angry and punching Things, I decided not to question why he was sniffing my neck and let it slide...
A couple of minutes later Nathan loosened his grip around my waist and brought his head up. Thankfully his eyes had returned to their natural blue. I'd have to ask him about that later.
"Let's get the bags...." He muttered, stalking off past the now broken wall and through the door leaving me behind.
Mood swings, much?
