"Really..." Aile mumbled as she stared down at her lap. "I don't know he could put on angry face..."

"Of course he could!" Petra snapped, throwing Aile daggers. "As expressionless as he is, he's still human, born with expression! You should know that better than anybody, Aile!"

Aile stayed silent while Petra was catching her breath. "...Just because I live long enough to have known him for years doesn't mean I know everything about him, Petra," Aile remarked. "I'm a dense person, after all."

"Then I will tell you," Petra said again, her expression was enough to make Aile grimaced. "Captain never shows us his emotion. But he finally showed one, when you got wounded... and it was anger," she began as she slowly cast down her eyes. "...that only means you're so important to him that he let his expression slipped out, Aile."

"Important..." Aile muttered the word inwardly.

Soon after that the two went into silent, as no one said anything. Petra kept her eyes glued on the floor while Aile's mind was busy wandering around somewhere.

"...why you?" Petra silently whispered. "Whenever the Captain is around you I can tell he's eyeing you differently. It's not like the look he's giving when talking with squad leader Hanji or commander Erwin, or when he's talking with us... it's a completely different look."

"I envy you, Aile..." Petra lifted her gaze, staring at Aile who was staring into the distance. "Hey, Petra..." suddenly she said.

"I think you already know this but... you better not thinking of making any kind of relationship while you're still a soldier," Petra jerked up when Aile said that. "It will only brings you pain. Well it's okay if you could deal with the pain, but for how long?" Aile chuckled to herself.

Petra remained silent in her position, completely stunned. She bit her lower lip and slowly clenched her joined palms. "I... I understand," she eventually muttered. She didn't know why but she felt her chest was filled with sudden anger. "...I've never considered you my friend, too." she said while giving Aile a dark look.

Petra stopped for a moment and quickly covered her mouth as she realized her words. Widening her eyes she looked at Aile across her, who looked a bit taken aback. Knowing it was too late for drawing back her words she hurriedly slammed the door open and scrammed away from there.

"...W-Why am I running?! I should apologize to her!" Petra screamed inwardly. However despite what she was thinking she just went straight towards her room.

Aile sighed thinly at the ajar door. "...I wasn't expecting that," suddenly a familiar bored tone commented from outside the room. "Yeah, me too..." Aile frowned in response as the owner of that voice, Levi, walked in.

Levi studied the auburn woman in silence. "How long have you been listening?" Aile asked him, looking back into his eyes, snapping him out from his mind.

"...Since you start talking about relationship and stuff," Levi replied as he roamed his eyes around the room. "Then in a sudden the door was slammed open. Fortunately I was quick to react."

"Is that so..." Aile commented as her hand reached for the pile of documents on the drawer. "By the way, I've already done with these." she stretched it to Levi after tidying it.

"Good work," Levi paused for a moment before taking it. "...how's your wound?" he asked, examining the documents carefully.

"It's healing," Aile flashed him a reassuring smile. "It still hurts a bit... but I'm okay nonetheless."

"Still, Erwin had decided that you won't be participated in the upcoming expedition," Levi said blankly as his eyes read the document. "...do this once again." he showed Aile a paper.

"I know, Hanji said that to me," Aile huffed slightly while taking the paper from Levi's hand. "Anyway I heard we're aiming for something grand on the next expedition..."

"Don't talk about that here," Levi quickly hushed the woman, sharpening his already sharp eyes at her. "Even though your name was also listed in 'the meeting' attendance list." "So I was supposed to attend 'it'?" Aile widened her eyes a bit.

"By all means," Levi had finished examining. "Now hurry up and eat your food. After that I will give you another paperwork," "Already?!" Aile widened her eyes completely. "...Ugh, if being sick means I have to do more paperwork I'd rather go on the expedition..."

"Complaining is prohibited," Levi replied roughly, causing Aile to wince. "...anyway, if you want to come on the next expedition, be sure to healed up." Levi said again, this time with softer voice. "For now just be a good girl and stay in your place."

"Understood, Captain," Aile smiled meekly. She soon cast her eyes away from Levi, a hint of sadness adorning them. "Hey Levi... would you do me a favor?"

Levi eyed the woman before sighing inwardly. "'Don't die', right? You kept telling me that each time before expeditions." "Yes, that. But I have more to say..." Aile knitted her fingers together. "...take care of Petra, won't you?"

"She's a soldier who can take care of herself."

"Yes but... I have a bad feeling..."

 "...Don't you believe in her?"

"Just shut up and promise me, ya hear?!" Aile snapped, in a rough accent that only came out when she was mad or extremely pissed.

Levi looked a bit surprised after hearing Aile's sudden lash out.

"...fine," he eventually nodded in defeat. "I will look after her, and I won't die. I promise you."
