00. Prologue

Knock, knock.

"...Come in."

A petite woman turned the doorknob and stepped into the office. She closed the door behind her and saluted. "Were you looking for me, Squad Leader?"

The man inside looked over his paperwork towards the door. "Ah, yes. I've been waiting for you," he placed the paperwork he was holding on the desk, then twined his fingers as he rested his elbows on the desk.

"I have a mission for you." Without further ado the man spoke firmly.

The woman's brown orbs glinted as she listened to his words. Mission... she thought.

He nodded. "Yes. And I personally think you are the most suitable for this mission."

The woman blinked.

"....And that's all you have to do. Is there any questions?"

The man asked once he had done explaining to the woman. The woman looked straight into the man's eyes.

"Excuse me for saying this sir, but isn't that too risky?"

The man flashed her a thin smile. "If you are concerned about my safety, you don't have to worry. I know what I'm doing."

The woman looked down, thinking.

"I might be your superior, but you can always choose. Whether you will do it or not, it's all your choice."

The woman lifted up her head, now looking determined. "I choose to always trust you and your decisions, sir!"

The man satisfyingly nodded. "Very well. Get ready, then. You will be leaving tomorrow."

"Yes. I will do my best, sir!"

The woman gave her last salute to the man before exiting the office. She walked away, and started getting ready.
