Hidden Powers

Prologue:

  "Lucy! Run!" A 10-year old blonde girl whisked around to the direction of the voice. Her chocolate brown eyes instantly widened as she took in the sight before her. From where she stand, she saw their mansion blazing in fire and her twin brother, Max, running towards her. A group of mages behind him. When the blonde boy knew his twin sister wouldn't move, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her along with him.

   "Max?! Who a-are they?! And w-why are they running after u-us?!" The scared little girl yelled out to his brother.

  "I don't exactly know either. But now i know the reason why mom wanted us to leave the mansion earlier along with Zach-nii, Kurt-nii and Yuuki." Max said as he pulled his sister down with him to hide behind a huge tree, still trying to escape the mages who were after them.

  "You mean to say t-that Mom knew that we will be attack?" The blonde girl looked at his twin in disbelief.

  "Probably. Why else would she almost throw us out the mansion if she didn't know something like this would happen?" The boy run his hand through his hair in annoyance while trying to prove his point to his twin.

  "Lucy! Max!" The two called out mages turned around in time to see three kids running towards them. One boy was three years older than the twins, blonde, almost brown, hair and has emerald green eyes. Kurt Heartfilia, only son of June Heartfilia, older brother of Jude.

Other boy was only two years older, has dirty blonde hair and hazel brown eyes. He's Zachary Heartfilia, the twins older brother.

  Lastly, the only girl who's only two months older, has brownish orange hair and brown eyes. She's Miyuki Heartfilia, younger sister of Kurt.

  "Yuuki, Kurt-nii and Zach-nii!" Lucy shouted with hope as she waited for the three to near them.

  "Thank-" her words were cut off when smoke started to spread through out their hidding place.

  "Cover your nose, guys! I think this smoke has poison!" They did as they were instructed, their hands covering their mouths and noses.

  "Ohh, so this is where you little scumbags are hiding.." a deep and cold voice echoed through out the forest as Zach, Kurt and Max stepped infront of Lucy and Yuuki protectively.

  "Who are you and what do you want from us?!" Max shouted out, letting his dark brown, almost black, eyes roam the area.

  "No need to shout, boy. I'm just right here." With a strong gust of wind, a figure materialized infront of them.

  "W-Who are y-you?" Max asked, not sounding as confident as he was earlier.

  "I'm a mage from Death Corpse. And that's the only thing you should know about me." The figure wearing a cloak said as he cackled darkly which send shivers on the little kids spines.

  "W-What do you want from us?!" Kurt, the oldest, said as he mastered a glare towards the cloaked figure, standing protectively infront of his cousins and sister.

  "Just your powers." The figure merely chuckled at the sight infront of him, five kids trembling and scared. Such  a touching sight. Well, atleast for him.

  "W-What makes you think we will g-give it to you?!" Zach shouted which made the dark mage cackle darkly.

  "Maybe this will change your minds." With a twirl of his fingers, a figure appeared before him. Hands and feet tied, her body was full of cuts and bruises. Her dress were ripped and tattered. Her once long shiny blonde hair was a mess and full of knots. Her mouth was covered with a dirty white cloth. Her face shows complete horror and pain.

  "M-Mom!" Lucy, Max and Zach yelled out to their birth mom in desperation and agony.

  "No.. Aunt Layla.." Kurt muttered while trying to hold off the three children of the said ex-celestial mage who desperately wanted to approach their battered mom.

  "Don't worry little ones. Your mommy will be safe once you surrender your pitiful selves to me." The cloaked man mocked which made Layla glare at him. The man chuckled at the sight of her before hastily removing the cloth covering her mouth. But how wrong of a move that was.

  Layla took the opportunity to cast a spell that sent the man flying backwards, slamming to a tree.

  "Listen to me, kids. This will be my l-last words to you. Never surrender yourselves to them. Run away from here and never ever look back. Take care o-of yourselves. I will leave Kurt and Zach incharge since t-their the oldest." The oldest blonde said as she hugged the five after being freed from the ropes.

  "M-Mom? What are y-you talking a-about?! We will l-leave and escape together, r-right?" Lucy sobbed to her mother which made the blonde look away in guilt. She showered the girl with soothing words before making her look at her in the eye.

  "Listen, Lucy. Mommy can't. S-she needs to s-stay here to hold those b-bad people until y-your all safe. You need to listen to your brothers and cousins from n-now on, got it? When this is all over, i want all of you to train your powers. Don't be afraid to use them. For good. Only for good. Always remember though, Mommy l-loves you." Before Lucy could even argue, she was already being dragged away by her brothers.

  All she saw before they got out of the clearing was the figure of her mother screaming as she got impaled by a sword on her stomach.

  "Ahhhhhhhh!" I yelled as my back came in contact with the floor. Again. A groan escaped my lips as the content of the dream continue on hunting my mind.

  I've been consistently being hunted by my memories about 7 years ago. The scene of my mom swimming on her own blood kept on flashing through my mind as i clutched my head in frustration.

  'Zach-nii.. Kurt-nii.. Yuuki.... Max.. Where are you? I hope your all doing fine. I hope your not having dreams of what happened years ago like me.. I hope you guys find me soon .."
