Chapter 24 • "Don't lie Luke."

Start from the beginning

"Oh my gosh I'm sorry I was round Luke's." I say.

"Don't be sorry. He is your boyfriend obviously you're gonna spend time with him."

"Thanks Eva. Where are you staying by the way?"

"At a hotel not far away." She says. "It's really nice. Speaking of the hotel I should probably be going otherwise I won't be able to go for the late night swim."

"That sounds awesome. Please come back though and visit again. How long are you here for?" I say standing up.

"I will come again and I'm here for another four days." She replies.

"Okay well make sure we meet up. We can go shopping on the mall." I suggest.

"Okay, sounds good. Is Thursday okay?" She asks.

"Thursday is great." I answer opening the front door and letting her out.

"I'll see you on Thursday." She says and heads towards the gate which I unlock.

"Bye Eva."

"Bye Tils."

I shut the door and grab my phone off the side.

"Hey." Luke's text read.

"Hey Luke, what's up." I replied.

"Not much. There's just one thing on my mind." He texts back not long after.

"What is it?" I question.

"It's just that you didn't introduce me as your boyfriend earlier." He explains and as soon as I get the text I realise and I feel so bad.

"I'm so sorry Luke. I didn't mean to. I wasn't thinking and now I am I feel terrible." I reply hoping he will forgive me.

"It's okay. I just thought you were having second thoughts about our relationship because I hadn't been honest with you earlier." He messages back shocking me a little until I remembered how vulnerable he is.

"No. Never. Not at all. I would never leave you over something like that Luke."

"I'm glad. Thank you Tilly."

"It's no problem Luke. You don't have to keep thanking me."

"But I truly mean it."

"I know. Goodnight Luke. I hope your nose is feels better :)"

"It does thank you and goodnight Tilly :)"

With that I close my phone and go back into my mothers office down the hall.

"Hey mum." I say catching her attention but not enough for her to not focus on what she was already doing.

"Hey honey." She replies looking back and forth between a piece of paper and the computer screen.

"Are you okay? You know with work and stuff you seem really busy and I wanted to spend some time with you."

"I wish I could Tilly but the business is still getting started in terms of moving. It should all be finished by next week on Wednesday." She informs.

"Okay. Are you working this weekend?" I ask.

"Yeah, we have some major planning going into action and I need to make sure it's happening well plus I'm meeting with a client."

"Oh okay. I'll see you tomorrow night then." I say and head upstairs to my bedroom.

"Goodnight Tilly." I just about hear her say.

I change into my pyjamas, turn on my radio and jump into bed quickly and quietly falling asleep. I could only wish I was falling asleep next to him though.

The sound of my alarm rings throughout the whole house and wakes me up at the first sound. I jump out of bed as I am shocked by the noise and take a shower etc.

Once I am ready I go downstairs grab my breakfast and head out locking the house up before I leave.

The next day went fast and soon I was home. I got moved into the other art class which I was very thankful for as I didn't have to face Alex especially after what he did to Luke. The boys had band practice, Rosie was with family and Grace I don't know what she was doing. I came home and the house was boiling hot so I opened the windows and the back door in the kitchen. I realised I hadn't actually been out in the garden yet and so I decided to go for a little adventure. It was quite big and was separated into three sections all marked out by tall hedges acting as borders. I make my way from the first part into the second which is much prettier with flowers lining the edge of the garden space. A little hard to the right of the area catches my attention and so I decide to take a look. It's a small white gate with a sign in it that faintly says 'Spring Field Cottage'. As I open the small gate sure enough is a little house made out of bricks with over grown flower & vines covering the outer walls. Although it didn't look much it certainly had potential. This was going to be my little secret.

I searched for some gardening tools in the garage until I finally found something useful and then I got to work. Slowly cutting some of the flower and vines off as I didn't want to get rid of them I begin refurbishing this little house.

Almost one and a half hours later I had cleaned all of the inside, had curtains hung up over the windows, fairy lights around the top edges of the house, an old sofa we had from our old house that mum had planned on throwing out but I rescued it, a blanket draped across the sofa with some cushions and a rug laid out on the floor. To add to the finishing touch I put some of my favourite pictures up in spare frames I had in my room.

This would be a great get away.
