I glanced at Mom as she ruffled my hair. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder as Dad nodded his head in agreement.
"She's still in love with you, Jungkook." Mom smiled. "From how you two act towards each other, how she looks after you.. even a blind person can tell that the two of you are still in love with each other."
"I just hope all of what you're telling me right now is right." I chuckled as she giggled.
"Oh.. I know, Jungkook." She smiled. "Because I see myself in Seoyeon, and your father in you."
(Seoyeon's POV)
I picked up the cups and started to walk around the office to find where the three of them have gone. At the end of the hallway, one of the rooms were lit up. I walked over there and as I reached it, I heard them talking in a soft tone.
I stopped before the door, leaning against the wall as I heard Jungkook's Mom let out a loud chuckle. The conversation seemed really private, I was afraid I might be interrupting a serious family talk.
"Girls like her are hard to find, Jungkook." Jungkook's Mom said softly.
"She told me to make myself happy first, to love myself first, so that I will be able to heal myself and be open to love another girl." Jungkook explained. "But I was so stupid.. I was in love with her all this time, but I was too blind to realize that."
"Is this why you're running after her?" Jungkook's Dad asked.
"She makes me really happy, Dad." He whispered. "I can't let her go knowing that I had fallen in love with her all this time.. when she was in love with me."
"You better not let her go this time," Jungkook's Mom began. "You're lucky that she's still taking care of you after you hurt her like that. You're lucky that's letting you back into her life."
"What if she moved on?" He asked.
Jungkook's Mom simply chuckled. "Do you think she moved on?"
She let out another laugh. "What?"
"I don't think she's moved on from you, Jungkook." She explained. "She's the one who brought us all the way from America for your birthday. Have you seen the way she takes care of you? Or the way she looks at you?"
"She's still in love with you, Jungkook." She added. "From how you two act towards each other, how she looks after you.. even a blind person can tell that the two of you are still in love with each other."
"I just hope all of what you're telling me right now is right." He chuckled as she giggled.
"Oh.. I know, Jungkook." She smiled. "Because I see myself in Seoyeon, and your father in you."
I bit my lip, furrowing my eyebrows as I gripped tightly onto the cups. I sighed.
This is what I hate, Jungkook. I hate that I'm still in love with you.
Before entering into the room, out the door Jungkook and his parents went. I stopped in my tracks, my eyes slightly widening. I smiled, "here are your drinks."
"Oh! Thanks, Seoyeon-ah." Jungkook smiled grabbing the drinks from my hands.
"Oh, would you look at the time.." Jungkook's Dad gasped. "We should get going to our hotel, the check-in time is right around the corner."
"Do you want me to put those drinks into take out cups?" I insisted as they gave me a worried look.
"Are you sure, Seoyeon-ah? We don't want to cause so much burden.." Jungkook's Mom's eyebrows were knitted together in pity as I shook my head.
"No! Don't worry about it, I don't mind." I smiled reassuringly, grabbing their cups and heading to the kitchen to transfer them into paper cups.
I came back out with the cups and my jacket as Jungkook watched me hand them over to his parents. "I'm also heading out as well, I have to cook dinner."
"Leaving so soon?" The three of them said in unison as I laughed.
"I can walk you home," Jungkook insisted, grabbing his jacket.
I shook my head, "no, I'll be fine, Jungkook. My house is at the end of the street, anyway."
"But it's getting late, we want you to be safe." Jungkook's Mom insisted.
I gave in, nodding my head, "alright."
We all headed downstairs towards the streets and Jungkook's Mom stopped me. I turned towards her as she hugged me tightly.
She whispered, "thank you so much for taking care of Jungkook."
"It's nothing, really." I giggled as she smiled.
"Now I see why Jungkook loves you so much," she kissed my cheek and waved goodbye as her and her husband started to walk in the opposite direction of my home. "I'll see you soon, Seoyeon-ah! Nice meeting you!"

Jungkook and I were walking down the sidewalk underneath the dark skies. It had been really quiet since the two of us talked, which was back at his office. All the stores were closed and the streets were somewhat empty.
"So.. you planned all of this?" Jungkook asked to start a convo.
I nodded my head, "you deserved it, Jungkook-ah. I didn't want you to feel the same way I did on my birthday."
He chuckled, "that was very.. sweet of you."
I looked at him as he smiled genuinely. I looked away quickly, starting to feel my heart flutter at the sight of him smiling down on me. "It was nothing, trust me."
"How is buying plane tickets for my parents at the very last minute for them to come here for my birthday, nothing?" He asked. "Seoyeon-ah, you really didn't have to.. a skype call would've sufficed."
"But you looked so upset, and I felt bad." I replied. "This as my only option to making you happy. You look really ugly when you're upset, you know that right?"
We reached the front of my house and we stopped in front of my porch. He scratched the nape of his neck as I tried to unlock the door. I turned around and pointed inside.
"Want to stay for a while and have some snacks?" I insisted as he shook his head.
"I'll be fine, Seoyeon-ah. What you did.. is more than enough." He giggled and I nodded my head.
I turned back towards the door, and opened it. "I'll see you later? Goodnight, Jungkook."
He smiled, "goodnight, Seoyeon."
I opened the door and felt myself grow so awkward because the awkward farewells we had just exchanged. I had just stepped one foot into the house and I felt a hand pull me back. I turned around to see Jungkook looking at me with a serious face.
He pulled me into a tight hug, his arms wrapped around my waist. I was so surprised, but as I relaxed, I wrapped my arms around him as well.
"Thank you so much, Seoyeon. You don't know how much that meant to me." He whispered, and I shivered at his voice. "It means so much, and I don't know how to return the favour."
"You don't need to, Jungkook." I chuckled as he pulled away from the hug.
It was almost as if the time had stopped. He stared at me intently, and I watched his eyes start to look down at my lips. I looked at his lips as well, and I tried to stop myself from falling in love with his intense gaze.
"Thank you, Seoyeon." He whispered.
And right when I knew it..
He kissed me.
