______________

-SAVANNAH POV-

"Dad I'm home!" I yelled as I dropped my gym bag near the door. There was no answer and I yelled again, "DAD?" I went to the refrigerator to grab a water bottle, exhausted from basketball practice. "hes not here. He went on a business trip" my brother, Greyson, yelled sadly from the other room.

"again? For how long?" I asked. I walked into the living room and crashed on the couch next to him. He didnt answer and I noticed he had tears in his eyes. I hugged him, softly whispering, "I'm so sorry Grey. we still have each other"

No matter how bad our family got, Greyson and I have always been very close. especially after our mom left dad. I mean, we were twins; practically connected at the hip since birth. I still remember the day mom left. like it was yesterday...

*flashback*

"mom...dad! you can work this out! please...think about me and Grey!" I added, grabbing his hand. my mom shook her head, "Sav. you may be able to fix most problems, but not something like this. its done." she said harshly. fixing things. huh. I guess thats become a habit of mine.

my dad remained quiet silent all four of us were in tears. "it cant be. it just cant." I repeated to myself and greyson squeezed my hand. my mom walked over and kissed my forehead, then Greyson's, "Im sorry. you know I love you both." she said with one hand on each of our shoulders. "but it has to be done. it will be better this way. I promise."

*end of flashback*

I glanced at Grey, my expression clearly giving away the memory. "I miss her too" he stated, reading my mind. "Im gonna go up to my room, are you gonna be okay?" he nodded and wiped away a few tears. "yeah, go ahead" I gave his shoulder a comforting pat and headed up the stairs. I had almost reached the top when I looked back at him.

he had slumped over from his sitting position, and laid with his head on the arm of the couch, staring blankly at the wall. "Greyson," he looked up at me pathetically. "come on. Come sing with me." Greyson chuckled, a little smile creeping onto his face, "what? So now you're the boss of me now?" I put my hand on my hip, "well, I am older!" I teased. "only by four minutes! Gosh."

"Grey, I'm joking! Come on!" I said, running to my room and grabbing my guitar. He went into his and grabbed his keyboard. we both sat down on my bed and Greyson began playing the beginning of a song we wrote together,

"you'll never enjoy you're life,

living inside the box,

youre so across of taking chances,

how you gonna reach the top?

Rules and regulations force you to play it safe.

Get rid of all the hesitation.

It's time for you to seize the day!"

my guitar part began here and I joined him, singing,

"instead of sitting around,

looking down on tomorrow,

you gotta lift your feet off the ground, the time is now

....I'm waiting, Waiting. Just waiting, I'm waiting waiting outside the lines..."

just as we finished the chorus, my phone vibrated, and Grey continued with the next verse. I read the text:

'Sav! where are you?!?'
