I woke up to Parker banging on my door. "Juliana! Get up and ready! I'll go make breakfast."

I yawned and got up. I pulled on my black skinny jeans and tight blue camisole. I grabbed my jacket and boots then went downstairs.

"Good morning!" smiled Parker.

"Morning!"

"Sleepy?"

"Yeah."

"Want some coffee?" Parker offered.

"Please."

"How many sugars and how much creamer?"

"Three sugars and two creamers, please."

Parker smiled and nodded. He turned around and made my coffee. He was cooking eggs, bacon, waffles, and toast. He handed me my coffee. I took a sip.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"No, prob. Pull up a stool."

I looked around and found one. I sat at the counter. Parker grabbed a stool and placed it next to me. He put the food on plates and gave me mine. He sat next to me. We started eating.

Parker's POV

Juliana put on her jacket and pull on her boots. Pretty hot outfit I might add. I grabbed my keys and we walked to my truck. I tried to open the door. It was frozen shut.

"Fuck." I said.

"Can I try?"

"Have at it."

I saw Juliana walked around to my side of the truck. She yanked on the door hard and it came open. There was ice on the ground. She slipped and I caught her. I started slipping and I fell. I looked at her and started laughing. She started laughing.

"My ass hurts!" I laughed.

"Thanks for catching me."

"Thanks for getting my truck open."

We were still laughing a bit.

"No, prob." We said in unison.

We looked at each other as we got into the truck. We laughed.

"You've been around me a day and you already picked up a few things." I smiled.

"I guess so."

"Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"Four brothers and four sisters."

"Shit. Are they all from your mom?"

"No. One brother and two sisters are my dad. The rest of them come from my mom. I'm the oldest of her six."

"Damn. At least she didn't have all eight kids plus you. That's a total of nine kids."

"Yeah."

"I'm an only child so all I hang out with are my cousins when I'm at my mom's house."

"I have tons of cousins."

"So, you have a huge family?"

"Very fucking huge."

I laughed and we finally made it to the site. I parked my car. We got out. Kyle walked up to us.

"So, you must be Juliana." smiled Kyle.

"And you are?" asked Juliana.

"Kyle. Parker's foreman." smiled Kyle.

"So, what does it look like?" I asked.

"We came across twenty three ounces of gold yesterday. For the whole day." said Kyle

"I knew these years twelve claims from Tony Beets had tons of gold." I smiled.

"How much is twenty three ounces?" asked Juliana

"Like twenty eight thousand dollars." smiled Kyle.

"Damn..." whispered Juliana.

"Let's go over here." I said as I looked at Juliana.

"Okay." said Juliana

I brought her to my bulldozer. I climbed in and pulled up. She didn't know where to sit. There was only one seat.

"Just sit on my lap." I said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah..."

She sat down as I started it up. I closed the door. Juliana was freezing.

"Yeah. It can get really cold." I said.

"Colder than I'm use to."

"Yeah. You'll get use to it...eventually."

"I get cold easily."

"Really? Even with a jacket on?"

"Yeah."

I took off my Carhart and put it on her. I still had a sweatshirt on.

"But you'll get cold." whispered Juliana.

"Naw. I wear this sweatshirt all the time out here. I'm fine."

"Thank you."

"No, prob."

She smiled as I started driving the bulldozer away from the site. We were almost done with this season. We're up to one thousand four hundred and fifty eight ounces of gold. I hope. we can get more from these claims alone to reach our total five thousand ounces of gold for the entire season.

"Where are we going?" asked Juliana.

"Just right here."

"What are we doing here?"

"This is the place we're suppose to get married."

"Right here? Right on this lake?"

"It was my mom's idea. Not mine."

"I'm scared."

"Me, too. I don't know you too well yet and they want us to be married by the end of the Gold Rush season."

"That's in five months!"

"I know."

"I never wanted to get married at nineteen."

"I want to get married around twenty five or twenty six but my mom says no."

"Me, too. Twenty five or twenty six is a good time to get married."

I nodded as she looked at the lake. She was scared. I was scared. We were getting married and we didn't want to...yet. I drove back to the site. I turned off the bulldozer and we got out.

"Parker!" yelled Kyle.

"Yeah?" I asked

"We just hit the mother load!" said Kyle.

"The mother load?" Juliana whispered.

I smiled and we ran after Kyle. We went into a building. We saw a huge pan filled with gold to the rim.

"Holy shit." whispered Juliana.

"Holy shit is right." chuckled Kyle.

"How many ounces are here?" I asked.

"About three hundred." said Kyle.

"What the fuck? Oh, my god!" I said.

"That's just about three hundred and fifty thousand dollars!" shouted Kyle.

"Holy fuck!" Juliana said.

I picked her up and hugged her. She giggled and I put her down.

"I'm sorry. I'm just super happy." smiled Parker.

She giggled and hugged me. I hugged her back. Kyle was smiling. The rest of my crew was cheering. The Final Cut is going to get us to five thousand ounces of gold and I'm counting on it.
