BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW

Start from the beginning

Time slows down again, and the beats of my heart compensate for the drop in the number of ticks.

"Where were we?"

Danny whispers, his lips not an inch away from mine. The static; it is so there again. It makes the hairs on my arms rise.

I close my eyes in reply and exhale against his face when we reunite.

Mmm . . .

Maybe it's just my over sensitized skin, but Danny's touch, his moist lips feel more softer now, but passionate nonetheless. Almost like he knew that was what I'd want.

Ah! There it is again!

Why do I get paranoid only while he's kissing me?

No!

This is not going to happen all over again. Whatever I was doing before this was working and it has to work. now. too.

I grit my teeth in determination, but only end up breaking Danny's.

"Sorry!" I hiss, touching his upper lip from where I've just bitten him.

Aargh!

I start kissing him before he can speak, but even before that somehow, Danny nibbles gently at my lips and then gives me the widest possible grin.

"Now we're even." He breathes, dragging my arms above my head and meeting my lips again.

That's when time betrays me again. That's when words betray me.

I mumble his name, random endearments and finally meaningless whimpers into the air, as he continues to set me off.

I can feel the blood racing too close to my skin, raising goosebumps and the adrenaline pushing me onto my toes as I buck into him, again and again and again . . .

"Is this better?"

Danny whispers against my throat, before pressing his lips to it.

"Much." I breathe, tilting my head further back against the door frame and squeeze his fingers in mine. His very breath makes the hairs on my nape stand.

We pull away to smile at each other, exchange 'I love you's' and then go for it again. But not once does my engaged mind drift to anything else. Danny doesn't give me a chance; exactly what I had asked of him.

I stand on my toes now again, as he trails his hands down to my waist, setting my skin aflame. The whole of my body tingles in anticipation, as they move further down to halt behind my weak knees.

Danny holds my eyes for the shortest beat, and then he doss something unthinkable.

I gasp audibly as he pulls me up astride against himself, holding me firmly. I blink in a daze for the first few seconds because my eyes have been closed for so long, and rationalism hasn't yet returned.

I then smile briefly above him in realization, and the color touches my cheeks after quite a while. It was just skin against skin. . .
Danny's seems conscious of it too, and he gives me a very rare kind if smile. Sparing not another moment, I lean in to meet his lips again.

Oh, God.

My heart rate is through the roof. Danny's isn't far behind because I can feel his heart pound against my chest now. I don't think I've ever been this high.

"I love you . . . so much." He says through a gasp, sliding both straps of my drenched chemise down my shoulders and then pressing his lips to my skin.
