The Recovery (Niall and Harry Fanfic)

Chapter 6

~Madison's POV~

      We arrived in Florida late yesterday and got settle into our hotel. Mama wanted a day to relax, so we decided not  to go to a theme park today. Just go and chill at the beach. I thought it was a fantastic idea. We have two whole weeks to explore the theme parks. I think that was plently of time.

    I started getting ready, I put on my light green bikini. Over that I wore a short sleeve crop top and some peach colored shorts with my black converse. I threw my hair up in a bun. I put on the sunglass Caroline brought me. I have to say when I looked in the mirror; I looked like a freaking hipster.

  The producers left us a whole limo in Florida to go where ever we would like. We told him we wanted to go to  the beach he shook his head, and open the limo door for us.

**Arriving at the beach**

    Going down to the beach we stop at this local store locate on the pier.  We go inside and spot surf gear everywhere. At the front counter I spot disposable cameras. Mama brought me one because well I had no phone, and it would be a way to capture the memories. We walk down to the shore, set up our towels, and I take myshirt off, which left my bikini top. I didn't take my shorts off because I'm insecure. As soon as I sat down I started taking pictures of the beautiful secenery. Caroline would be proud.

~Caroline's POV~

   The next morning I wake up ready to get to work on Caroline's house. I got ready putting on the yellow volunteer shirt the producers gave me, and I put my hair up in a bun. I rain down the stairs to discover ma had already left for work.Great I thought. She was never here. I fixed me a glass of orange juice and once I drank it, I headed out the door. I look to my right and I see tons and tons of people already at work. I spot the boys and I head over to meet them. I give off a little wave and break their silence. "Hey so what are y'all working on today?"

"It looks like you, Harry, and Niall will be working together to take apart Madison's bedrooom, leaving Zayn, Louis, and I to work on the kitchen." Liam said while looking at the schedule.

I look to Harry and Niall "Y'all ready to get to work?" I smiled.

"Lead the way." Harry smiled. I forgot they hadn't been inside the house yet. I led the way into the house. When Niall tapped me on the shoulder, I turned around to see Harry was left behind looking at one of Madison's family pictures. I approached him, he was really studying the picture. "That was two years ago before her dad went away and things got really rough." I stated. Harry placed the picture back down and they followed me to Madison's bedroom. I look up at the blackness and see the darkness has gotten worse. Maddie didn't let me in her room, she knew I wouldn't judge her, but she just was to embrassed.

I looked back at Niall and Harry and saw Niall was right near the closet where the floor was weak. "Niall, don't step there!" I screamed. It really scared me. He stepped back and looked confused. "The floor is really weak near her closet, so please be careful." Niall nodded. "On the schedule Liam gave me it says we should start by taking up the carpet." I stated. We started at the far wall pulling at the carpet. Everything was pulled out of her room including her bed, and dresser, so it was quite easy to pull the carpet up. Once we were done I literally felt bad about how Maddie was living, the wood underneath the carpet was black, and some parts even revealed holes. It brought tears to my eyes, because she put her life in danger because she was that stubborn. She could have stayed with my mom and I as long as she liked, but she insisted it wasn't this bad. Harry furrowed his eye brows concentrating on the surrounding floor. Niall looked like he was very concerned, when I looked over to him he noticed I had tears streaming down my cheeks. He came over to me as I looked at the floor, he wrapped his arms around me, and I looked him into his blue eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"I just, I can't believe my best friend lived like this. She could have fallen through this floor at any given moment, look how weak it is. I tried and begged her and her mom to come stay with us because they weren't a burden, their family. What if she would have fallen through? She would have been hurt, I just..." I trailed off and Niall held me closer, his blue eyes looked as innocent as ever.

"Shh Caroline, it wasn't your fault this happened." At this moment I wrapped my arms around Niall hugging him while I cried. He wipped my tears away.

"I'm sorry Niall, I just love my best friend,and I have no idea what I'd do without her."

"Trust me, I know how you feel, I don't know what I'd do without my four best lads." he smiled, and Harry looked over.

"Everything will be okay, Maddie's dream house will be built." Harry smiled displaying both of his dimples.
