Chapter 11

I quickly got ready and returned back to the room. Akihiko was sitting on his chair and gestured for me to sit down next to him.

Akihiko: I went back to read the ancient book and tried to decipher the other symbols regarding the link magic. So far, this is what we know. First, the link magic is activated by a pact between two people through an exchange of bodily fluids. Second, the receiver of the magic can utilize the magical capability of the giver. Third, the giver consumes twice mana when the receiver uses his magic. Lastly, the link magic seems to be temporary. My link symbol was gone this morning so was yours. There is more information in the book but I can't understand them.

Harumi: I see...

Akihiko: Since you are borrowing my magic, you need to be conscious of your magic usage. If you get a little bit stronger, we can stop doing this.

Harumi: Yea...I need to be stronger, so I can't stop relying on you.

Akihiko: That's not what I meant. I don't mind—

Harumi: Still, I'm glad that you are helping me. I owe a lot to you, and I don't know how to even repay you.

I smiled.

Akihiko: It's okay.

He forced a smile and looked away. His face seemed to be red.

Akihiko: Okay, let's stop wasting time and train. You need to practice your spell casting.

Akihiko gathered his materials and was about to leave, and I grabbed his hand.

Harumi: Aren't you going to kiss me...first?

Akihiko: What?! Oh yea...we have to do...that...first.

I was confused as to why Akihiko was acting nervous. He even forgot that he had to cast the link magic spell. We had done this before. Don't get me wrong, I still felt embarrassed doing this kind of thing with him.

Akihiko: Close your eyes!

Harumi: Okay...

I stood straight up and closed my eyes. I felt Akihiko's gentle hand on the back of my head as he slowly pushed it towards him. His lips felt like the first time we kissed. They were soft and hot.

For some mysterious reason, my world was stopping again. I wished that this moment would last....but I knew this was temporary.

Harumi: Mmh...ah...

I was giving in to his every move, and then he casually pushed me away from him. He cast the spell and fell back.

Akihiko: There! And stop making weird noises...

Harumi: I'm sorry. It's...um—

I didn't know what else to say. There was this weird feeling again in my body. I shrugged it off and moved on.

Akihiko did cast the spell. The link magic symbol appeared again on my wrist.

Akihiko: Hurry up! We can't waste more time.

Akihiko was annoyed again like the first time I met him. Today was different though. His face turned red, and he was hiding it from me.

We went to the training grounds and started training. While I was practicing on casting high level magic spells, Akihiko was training on his own to increase his physical and mental stamina. I was conservative on my magic usage, and Akihiko was doing fine. I was getting the hang of it, and I thought I could pass the examination.

Akihiko: At this pace, I think you will be placed as a Class A.

Harumi: Really?!

Akihiko: Well, you are borrowing magic from a Class A wizard. So, it makes sense if your level will be a Class A.

We returned to our room and washed ourselves up. As I was heading to my bed, Akihiko exclaimed.

Akihiko: If you don't like sleeping alone...you can sleep with me.

I smiled and giggled and headed towards his bed.

Harumi: Sure! If you insist—

Akihiko: Hmp!

Before I could lie on his bed, Akihiko placed a barrier of pillows in between us.

Akihiko: Here...Goodnight! Stay on your side.

Harumi: Um...okay...I will...Goodnight!
