Ok so there's been a lot of confusion on the last chapter. Ok so the normal story takes place in 2014. In jakes pov it's saying a memory from 2012 to 2013 when he got a coma. During the lighting that's when the world started to end. It effected people all over the world. When Danielle starts to talk(still in jakes pov) that's when the memories over. The storms and junk are just the beguining eventually it leads to the zombies.
Ok so it's just talking about jakes memory from the beguining of the end.
Tell me if there's more confusion ill answer all questions.
