Kuroko no Basket One Shots

Protect you *Murasakibara Atsushi*

You were not the type of girl to have many friends. People had always managed to hurt you in one way or another so, you just decided to avoid them all together.

However, there were some girls at your school that simply wouldn't let you just blend into the background.

"Hey, freak"

"Loser"

"Loner"

You weren't sure why but, you always let these girl's words get to you. You allowed them to talk to you like that without putting up a fight.

You didn't notice the giant boy who was distracted from his bag of chips by these girls and their barrage of insults.

He wasn't sure why by he instinctively felt the need to protect you. In seven long steps he had made his way up to the girls who were still crowding around you.

"Leave her alone" Murasakibara's usual bored tone was replaced with one that was so full of hatred it could have made anyone shrivel up in fear.

The girls all turned around slowly, their faces as white as sheets. They slowly raised their eyes so they were able to look Murasakibara in the eyes.

They held his gaze for about 3 seconds before they looked at the ground and quickly made their way out of sight.

Murasakibara ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm himself down before looking down at you. Well where you were standing, you had vanished.

Cursing under his breath, Murasakibara started to look around the school to find you.

You had hidden in a janitors closet, trying to calm your heart that felt like it was about to burst out of your chest. Why had he stood up for you? Why didn't he just look away and continue walking? Like most of the school did.

The bell rang and you had to make your way back to class. You kept your eyes out for those girls and Murasakibara.

When you thought you were in the clear, you felt long arms wrap around your torso. You were pulled in and felt your back press against a something warm and hard (that sounded dirty XD).

You started to struggle a little against the arms that just held you captive. "You won't be able to escape you know?" A warm, husky voice whispered down to you.

Looking up, you saw it was Murasakibara. When you realized you weren't in danger, you allowed yourself to relax into his grip.

The two of you stood like that for a few minutes before he released you but still kept a hand on your wrist.

"Th-Thank you for earlier..." You whispered.

"Why do you let those girls do that to you?" You could hear the frustration in his voice.

You simply shrugged. "Its not worth the hassle" you tried to keep your voice steady but it betrayed you and cracked at the end.

He gently turned you to face him. "You don't deserve any of what those girls do to you."

You looked down at the ground and could feel tears starting to well up in your eyes.

Murasakibara gently tilted your head up so that you were looking in his eyes. "You don't need to cry ever again. I will always be there to protect you."

A/N

So, I decided to completely change what I was going to do and decided to do one shots because I can't actually keep a whole story going for as long as a decent book would need to be.

This is my first one shot ever so it may not be great, I chose to do Atsushi-kun because he is my absolute favorite character.

Anyway, that is enough of my babbling about myself.
