Chapter Twenty-Five

"Really Natalie? You have some nerve."

She was my best friend, I told her things I've never told anyone, I trusted her and she betrayed me for someone that treated her like shit. I understood that was her Luna but I've known her my whole life.

"I'm so sorry Hailee. I honestly didn't think she would use it against you." She began coming towards me when I held out my hand to stop her.

"I don't want to hear it, just leave us be." Without another word she turned around and left the kitchen I could hear her cries as she left the room.

"I'm sure she didn't intend on this happening?" Judi said as she put her hand on my shoulder.

"I don't even know who she is anymore."

"Are you okay?" I asked Mason for the hundredth time through our mind link, but he never answer because he had closed off our link. I needed to hear his voice and know that he was okay.

"I'm fine."

And with that I was finally able to take my first breath.

Alpha Mason

"I feel like that was good." Noah said making everybody look at him weirdly. "All the tension is out of the room no angrier feeling lingering and now we can focus on the real issue."

The guys had finally managed to pull us apart. I came out fine besides a few bruise to the face and rib after the fight but Ryan on the other hand had a swollen eye and maybe a broken nose. Honestly after all the shit he talked it felt good to put him in his place. Since we were pups Ryan and his family always acted as if they were the better pack and we were below them. It always pissed me off but I could never do anything about it because we were allies and it would affect our business relationship.

"I agree." Caine said, and John and Nick nodded in agreement

"So what's the plan?" Nick asked as he lend back in chair and closed his eyes, folding his hands behind his head.

"We know they're planning to attack us all at once."

"How do we know that for sure?" Caine asked,

"Trust me I know." Noah said as he got up from his seat to pour himself a cup of coffee. "The question is more of when."

"The best thing we can do is get prepared." I said.

"Why can't we just attack them first?" Asked Ryan.

"I think getting prepared is wiser, if we spend time looking for them we'll be less prepared and they may attack us first." John said and we all nodded in agreement.

For the remainder of the meeting there were no arguments between Ryan and I. We were able to decide on the tactics that we should use and the protocol after the war was done.

"Are you okay?" Hailee asked me as she search around my body for injuries. I couldn't help but get a little turned on my having my mate feel me up, my wolf felt the same way and was pushing dirty images of her in my mind. Now that we had marked her, his feelings of mating had increased, I on the other hand wanted to wait until she was ready.

The meeting had ended a couple minutes ago and the first thing I did was go find my mate. When I had opened back up our mind link I could feel her worry and sadness through our bond. We were packing up the car and stretching our legs before the drive back, usually we would stay longer than a day but I along with the other Alpha's decided that we didn't want to be away from our pack for a long period of time.

I grabbed her hands to stop her from going any lower, if she did I don't think I could control my wolf any longer. "I'm fine, trust me he came off looking way worse than myself." I said making her smile brightly, she wrapped her arms around my waist and stood on her tippy toes to peck my lips.

"I'm glad you're okay."

"Me too." I saw Natalie walked out the pack house and towards us. "Hey Natalie." I waved.

"Ugg." She groaned and unwrapped her arms from around me and went to open the car door.

"What wrong?" I asked her through our mind link but didn't receive a reply.

"Hailee-." She cut her off.

"I don't want to talk to you." She ignored her and got in the back seat shutting the door behind her.

"Did something happen?" She looked apologetic but didn't respond to my question.

"Please tell her I'm sorry." I nodded and she retreated back in to the pack house.

"What's wrong?" I asked when I got in the back seat on the other side.

"I really don't want to talk about this now."

"Later?" I suggested and she nodded and came and cuddled up against me.

When we arrived back to the pack house most of the wolves we asleep besides the one's doing patrolling. We made our way up to our bedroom.

"Do you wanna tell me what happen between you and Natalie?" She nodded and took a seat on the bed with a sigh.

"After Mark came to check on us, Ellie came in the kitchen and she was insulting our pack I stood up for us and she brought up me and you. Natalie had told her what happen between us. She tried to apologize but I didn't want to hear it. You're supposed to be my best friend and then I hear you going around talking crap about me, well us." I couldn't help but smile at the way she had not only stood up for the pack as a true Luna would but also how she also used word such as us and ours. "What's funny?" She frowned.

"Nothing." I shook my head, by this her frowned deepen. "I just, well we like the fact that you said us and our."

"Really that what you took out of that." She giggled. "It's sweet but what about how she betrayed me?"

"I'm sure things will work out between you too. I mean you forgave me." I shrugged.

"I guess you're right."

I haven't really decide on who all the Alpha's are besides Nick and that's because I came up with a story concept for him that I will probably be uploading after I finish at least one of my books. I'm so excited for this book because I getting a head start on it plus I get to write a new book which is always exciting.
