Chapter 4

Thankfully, we quickly made it to the lodge, not having to stay in that forest for long.

Me and Ashely ran to each other, " Bella! You made it! So glad you came. Are you feeling alright?" We hugged, but I knew what she was implying. This is exactly what I didn't want.

"Of course I'm fine. I missed you Ash, even tho I saw you like a few days ago."

"Me to, we're going to have a good time up here, don't worry. And remember if you need anything, don't hesitate to come to me." She placed her hand on my shoulder, pulling me close.

"Don't worry, you know I will." I reassured her, even though it was all bullshit.

"Hey you? Remember me?" The familiar voice said behind me.

"How could I forget you?" I turned around with a genuine smile on my face to see one of my best friends and crush, Josh.

He held his hands high and had a goofy smile spread across his face. I walked up to him, wrapped my hands around his torso and buried my face into his jacket.

He quickly returned the hug and placed his chin on top of my head due to my short stature.

"I missed you shorty." He placed a soft kiss on my forehead, thankfully, his jacket hid my blush.

"Listen, I need you to be careful tonight, ok. Just watch your back out here." He warned, making me curious as to why, yet I didn't question him, he has his reasons especially after they...disappeared.

I didn't answer, just nuzzled my head further into his jacket, loving smell of it, because it smelled like him.

"Josh! I'm freezing over here!" Sam yelled.

"Yeah, comin!" Sadly, he pulled away from our hug, gently grabbed my hand and pulled me to the front steps of the lodge.

He slipped away from me as he and Chris tried to open the lodge door.

"Hey! Bella! Me and josh are going to get the door open! You alright out here?" Chris yelled from the path that lead to the back of the lodge.

"I'm all good!" I yelled back with a forced smile, which he returned.

Ashely and Sam were by the stairs talking while Matt just sat by himself looking depressed.

I felt alone. The dark forest was surrounded me, closing in on me, making me panic. I was not about to let my friends see me like this. To distract myself once again, I quickly put my earbuds in and blasted my music, closing my eyes as well. It helped. I just listened to my playlist run as I waited for Chris and Josh to open the door.

"Hey, have you noticed Bella lately? Her mental health hasn't been getting any better. Her schizophrenia is coming back." I told Ashely.

"Chris told me she hasn't been doing good. He always hears her crying beside their house, blaming herself for them." Ashley replied.

"She's hearing voices as well. I don't think she's on her meds." We both glared at Bella, who was listening to music.

"That's not good. We all have to keep an eye on her this weekend. Make sure to help her if you see her freaking out or anything." We both were going to make sure she doesn't full mental this weekend, I can't image how hard it is to be back.

"Agreed, let's hope that Jess and Em will go easy on her too." I wish what Ashley said was true, but to be quite honest, they didn't care about anyone.

We turned our heads as we heard burning coming from the cabin. Chris was heating the door knob, and like the idiot was, he didn't let it cool off before touching it. Nonetheless, he still opened the door, which I was great full for.

"Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week.. AHHHH! Jeez, crap that thing freaked me out." He screamed like a girl because a wolverine has just escaped the lodge, leaving both me and Ashley laughing and Bella walking over to us with all of the commotion.

"What was it? Are you ok?" Ashely said between laughs.

"It was like a bear or tiger or something..." Chris over exaggerated.

"Oh Chris really? You always over exaggerate." Bella now joined the conversation laughing.

"Aww, it was just a wittle baby wolverine." I said in baby talk.

"Baby?" My scaredy-cat brother replied. 

Josh walked up behind us, "Don't worry buddy, your gonna be a big boy soon.", He laughed, guiding us into the cabin.

That's when all of the memories came flooding back to me.
