Chapter Six:

"Sorry Marco, but with level your temperature is at right now, there's no way you're playing the match. It's just too risky, sorry buddy." The team medic said sympathetically, patting Marco on the back.

Marco had a gloomy look on his face; he had seen it coming. He knew it was going to be like this, it always was. Why does it always happen to me? Marco groaned in his mind.

Sandra was in the hotel suite with them, purposely looking out of the window and pretended to be interested in the beautiful Lisbon skyline, trying to seem like she wasn't eavesdropping.

"You can stop pretending, I know you heard everything." Marco dully said, his nose blocked, as soon as the doctor left his hotel room.

Sandra turned to look at him, and then suddenly felt like crying just by looking at the expression on his face; so full of pain and hurting, she couldn't help but feel incredibly pitiful for him.

She walked towards him, and took a seat next to him on the sofa. "Hey, are you really that sad about not being able to play?" Sandra asked softly, placing a comforting hand on his knee.

Marco whimpered in response. "I'm always injured, and if I'm not, then I'm sick like I am now, it's so fucking unfair!" He childishly snapped and tried kicking the table, but ended up hurting his toe hard, clutching his foot in pain.

"Do you want to go out? We could go see the city; I mean we still have a few hours till the night. C'mon, it'll take your mind off of some stuff." Sandra suggested encouragingly.

"No." He mumbled. "I'm sick, I don't want to go anywhere."

Sandra sighed. He was being just too difficult right now; but she couldn't decide on whether to go explore the city on her own or stay and comfort Marco, her priorities were lying towards the latter.

An idea sparked in her head. "Go change into something comfortable. Now." Sandra said with a smirk on her face, looking like she was up to no good.

"What? Why would you wan-"

"Now!"

"Okay, okay." He held his hands up in surrender, walking towards the bedroom where his clothes were.

As he walked facing the bedroom with his back to Sandra, he couldn't help but smile a little; he felt just a little bit excited that Sandra might be planning something.

As Marco was in his room, Sandra decided to change into more comfortable apparel as well. She came out of the bathroom now wearing a loose t-shirt and some loose baggy pajama bottoms that she had gotten half-price at Super Thrift, where she did buy most of her clothes when she was tight on money.

Marco on the other hand, came out of the room wearing Armani sweatpants and a Hugo Boss plain t-shirt, that had fitted him just enough to reveal his chiseled chest. Sandra had to avert her eyes before it seemed like she was staring.

"So um, here's the deal. I brought some movies along with me that we could watch, we can also order some pizza or something from room service, maybe open up a bottle of wine and just relax for the rest of the day, after all it's been pretty long." Sandra said gently with a small smile.

Marco looked down to the Argentine girl sitting on the couch; 'Wow, she really is amazing' was the first thought that entered his mind once she finished speaking, how often do you get manager treatment like this? "That sounds perfect." Marco replied, smiling the biggest grin that Sandra has ever seen him with so far.
