"Bella this is Kaylee, Kaylee this is Bella...my um, girlfriend." I introduce them, Bella blushes and Kaylee stares at me in disgust.
"Girlfriend?" Kaylee says, frowning at me.
"Yep." I respond, grabbing Bella's hand and smiling. "But you know, if you don't like it, I could always drop you back off at home, if your just to disgusted to stand to be in the car with us." I say, looking back at her in the rearview mirror. She crosses her arms and shakes her head, staring out the window. I chuckle at her, she can be such a brat sometimes.
It's silent for a while, Kaylee puts in her headphones to block the rest of the world, and I try to get lost in the drive, trying to plan in my head what I'm gonna do, I really haven't even thought what I'm gonna do once we get out of town.
"Zey?" Bella suddenly says, staring at me with fear.
"Yea?"
"Why do you wanna leave so badly? Why we're you so eager to leave once you found out that my parents kicked me out?" She inquires, biting her lip. I frown at her question, I don't really know how to answer that without bringing up my past.
"I don't really know Bell, just tired of the same old places, the inner city of Chicago is depressing. Its always a dark cloud over it, always raining and cold. Don't you ever just wanna go somewhere new?" I answer her question with a question, trying to distract her from what I'm trying to hide.
"Yea but, aren't you gonna miss your family and friends?" She answers, using my own game against me.
"Me and Kaylee don't really have family." I respond seriously, my grip tightening on the steering wheel. The only person I'm gonna miss is Trevor, but I wouldn't tell her about him, I don't really know if she's the jealous type yet. Bella doesn't say anything after that, her face sad like she's on the verge of crying. I can't remember the last time I cried, to me crying is one of the worst feelings in the world. It gives you a headache, makes you tired, and makes you look like you just smoked a pound of Loud.
The sun starts to fall as we enter the city, the buildings getting taller as we enter the inner city. We see the Sears Tower in the distance, I still call it that even though its the "Willis" Tower now since some rich guy bought it. We start getting closed in by traffic so I exit the highway to the first hotel I see, The SilverSmith Hotel. It's amazingly fancy, I can see a fancy swimming pool and fancy people in suits walking around with fancy suitcases. I park in the parking lot, all the fancy people staring at me as my truck roars and stutters, interrupting their fancy conversations.
"Kaylee, get up and grab your bags." I demand as I grab our suitcases out of the truck, waking her from her sleep as I start rolling Bella's suitcases to the entrance of the SilverSmith hotel.
