Vikk and I stayed up late skyping all night. We exchanged cute or cheesy quotes and pretended to share a cup of tea together, each having our own cup with us. Long distance relationships were hard, but I was proud to say Vikk and I made it okay. We were definitely strong and I truly believed it was going to work between us.

We were in love.

I didn't let him forget how much I loved him. Once a week I would send him packages of random stuff I found around that reminded me of him. This week, I had mailed this recipe book called, "Spooky Recipes for Beginner Halloween Queens". It made me laugh. It was also perfect for the season.

This morning, my family woke up early. It was tradition that the first weekend of October we always drove down to this one pumpkin patch to take family photos and drink some tea we'd bring with us. Today was that day and I was so excited. I chattered on and on about to Vikk. It's a wonder he didn't get annoyed with me.

"Lachy Dachy!" My brother teasingly called me, standing in the doorway to my room. He was wearing a fall coat and finger gloves. It was time to go! A smile found it's way to my face and I grabbed my things to leave.

"Lady running down to the riptide," My whole family sang along to the cheery voice of Vance Joy. I stopped singing for a moment and smiled, taking this moment to appreciate the people I have with me.

"We're almost there!" My dad informed us once the song ended. I grinned to myself, pulling out my phone to message back my boyfriend.

Vikk babe we're getting close to the pumpkin patch! I'm honestly am so freaking excited. xx

The place was just off the highway and we were turning onto it now from the gravel road we were currently on.

Something happened. Whether it was my dad not paying attention to oncoming traffic or the truck that was going 100 km/h swerved into the wrong lane, I'd never find out.

It happened suddenly.

The screech of tires was ear shattering. And all of the sudden I felt pain. It felt as if I was being crushed by a heavy vehicle. My head felt like it had split into a million pieces. I wanted to scream and cry, but I couldn't. The pain was too intense that I could only lay there, my face against a hard surface. Pain. My eyes were closing. Help. I needed help. But I think I would die before it came. I passed out, my body was unable to handle the pain.

I didn't think I would be waking up.
