I opened my eyes, still a bit blurry. I looked around, my head spinning. The walls were white and I heard a beeping sound. I felt a heavy weight on my foot and looked down; there was a boot cast on my foot.  I must’ve been in a hospital. I heard footsteps come in and closed my eyes pretending to still be asleep. ‘’I know your awake boy, your heart rate has changed’’ a voice said. ‘’Oh come on, stop the fake sleeping’’. I gave in and opened my eyes to see the man with the curly brown hair in front of me. I looked down at my wrist there were a handcuff on my wrist. The man looked down at the iron cuffs around my wrist, ‘’Just for now’’ he said.

I stared at him, ‘’I can tell everything, by just looking at you’’ he said, I put a small smirk on my face. He looked at my face, ‘’you used to live in an abusive household in till you ran away hoping you would never have to look back, I can tell that clearly from the bruise under your eye’’, he lifted up my arm, ‘’and the many scars and bruises on your arm’’. ‘’You lost someone important to you, someone who made your life so much better, you thought not speaking for the rest of your life would make it better, making you a mute, never talks, never has anything to say’’. I looked into his stern greenish eyes. ‘’’Well boy, are you going to tell me your name and talk to me?’’ he asked. I shook my head no. ‘’Someday I’ll get it from you’’. I wanted to get out of the hospital soon. I know I kept my lock pic in my pocket at all times, but I didn’t want to look suspicious. I rubbed my back on the hospital bed feeling around to see if it was in my pocket, it was. He went out the door and started talking to somebody; I took the pic out of my pocket and stuck in into the key lock. I heard a click and the handcuff unlocked. I unclipped the heart monitor on my finger and the constant beeping stopped making a loud ongoing beep.

I looked around the room and saw a closet; I walked to the closet and sat. ‘’Where did he go?’’, ‘’he was just here!’’ people shouted in a panic. ‘’I was guarding that door, I promise!’’. I quietly laughed. I sat in the closet in till they were out, those men where as clever as they thought; they didn’t even check the hospital closet, the only hiding spot I could be.

I walked casually out of the room, blending in as normal patient. I walked to the elevator, pushing the button to go down. I just hoped that Sherlock, or his little friend John wouldn’t be in the elevator when it came up. The elevator made a ding sound and the doors opened. A cleaning lady was the only one in the elevator; I took a breather out of relief. I pushed the down button, and got to the lobby. I was this far, I felt safe I could get farther.

I limpted out of the hospital, safe and sound minus the pain of my broken foot and no pain medication in me, I felt a sense of worry go off my shoulders. But I knew I had a decision to make, runaway from my problems or stay and face the fact that I have to proof myself innocent.
