As the sun rises above the horizon America slowly flutter my eyes open knowing what day it is. The day he'll convince his father to let him prove himself to everyone, let him carry out an invasion of the Axis. Even if he can't convice him, he'll do it anyway. It's not like anyone can stop him. What are they going to do? Arrest him? He's the prince! They can't do that, unless his father wants to. But he wouldn't do that to the heir.
The young prince stretches and gets out of his bed. He puts on his royal uniform, a bright red with a blue band across it, a golden collar and honor cord with royal blue pants before heading out to brush his teeth and going to the dining room.
Once the prince stood at his seat and sat down he began to slowly eat his breakfast, seemingly taking his time to enjoy every second of it. While he was eating he looked at his dad expecting him to say something, which he didn't. Britain had always been quiet, even to his own children. The only one he felt comfortable talking to was his wife Portugal.
"Hey father, could I talk to you after breakfast? It's important I promise!" America suddenly said to his dad
"Not this again." Interjected his brother Canada. "He's never going to agree dumbass. He never does."
"You're just jealous of me because he actually listens to me! Half of the time." He whispered that last part, but Canada could still hear it.
Their mother shot them both a glance to shut them up before they start fighting again. This tactic always worked. After this America looked back to his dad.
"So? May I?" He calmly said. To which his only responce was a nod from his dad.
The prince and his family finish their breakfast and go their seperate ways. Britain goes to his study and so does America. He waits outside until his brother and second in line for the throne comes up to him.
"You know I'm rooting for you right? I think you should di the right thing." The younger prince started.
"Didn't you say he wasn't going to let me at breakfast? Are you stupid or forgetful?" The older responded.
"I can see what will happen and still root for you, you know. And I'm not stupid!"
"So you admit you're forgetful! You still have alot to learn Canada. Maybe when you're older you'll be half as smart as me now."
Before he could retort, America is called in by Britain and took a seat opposite of him.
"Father, you know why I'm here."
"Regrettably" Britain sighed "I must assert my will, I shall not permit thee to pursue this notion. I cannot, in good conscience, dispatch thee unto thy certain demise."
"But why? You know I'm the best at dueling, acting, math, geography, most languages, etc. You know I'm the strongest and smartest one anywhere!"
"To excel in your studies and training doth not confer upon thee the title of the finest. Many an adult could best thee in combat, not to mention an entire regiment of skilled warriors. Pray, do not overlook the fact that thou art yet devoid of thine powers. I shall not permit my firstborn son to perish due to overweening confidence."
"So you're saying if I found out what my powers are and perfected them you'd let me?" The young prince questioned, thinking of a plan so his father wouldn't have a problem.
Britain thought for a moment before responding "Verily, it appears I shan't, thus I shall direct you to the Royal Academy, wherein thou mayest engage in training and acquire knowledge." Seemingly knowing he can't stop his son, he'd halt and slow him down at every moment he can.
"Thank you father!"
The young prince runs around the desk and hugs his father. His father, surprised by his sudden affection, slowly hugs him back, showing that he still cared even if he didn't show it often. As soon as he started to enjoy this moment America pulled back and ran out of his study, leaving him there alone.
For the rest of the day America went to duel more for a few hours as he found it quite enjoyable. After he just read a book under his favorite apple tree, the one furthest away from the entrence of the garden, before going to bed and dreaming of his future. It'll only be after the summer that he can go to the academy
Canada also started to dream about his future in his sleep. His future as king, sitting on the throne with America nowhere to be seen. Next to him his a beautiful faceless queen. All seemed perfect until he heard an explosion and everything around him started to burn. Just before the fire could reach him he screamed himself awake.
In the night Britain joined his queen Portugal in bed, who had heard what he let their son do. And clearly, she was mad
"I heard you let him go to the academy, what made you think that was a good idea?! Now he's surely to get himself killed!" The queen angrily berated him.
"Pray, do not vex thyself, for I am well aware of my course. I am indeed thwarting his haste. We are mutually cognizant that he would embark upon battle with them this very day. Now, verily, we are granted no less than a couple more years." He reasured her, not wanting her to get even more mad.
"I sure do hope you're right." She ended the conversation, slowly closing her eyes and going to sleep, her king doing the same.
As the summer passed two notable events happened, Canada's birthday where he turned 19. And as requested had a big royal party. The other America's birthday where he turned 21. And as tradition an even bigger royal party was held against the prince's whishes.
The young prince didn't interact much with the guests in his party, prefering to stand out the crowd. Unfortunately for him the crowd would go to him. Many other young royals, most of them younger than him, wanted to talk with the most important prince. All wanting to get on his good side, to get something from him, and he was having none of it. As soon as a crowd came rushing to him he would hide behind a guard and ask them to scare them off.
Even on his dance he refused to dance with anyone, saying none of them were fit to dance with him. Which fortunately worked out for him, having his interactions at a minimum.
The summer quickly passed for the prince. He stood ready for his first time in an actual school for once instead of his royal tutors teaching him everything. He dressed in his usual royal clothes and waited on his father to take the carriage. He would go on his own but his father wouldn't allow that, or he'd send thousands of guards to spy on him.
Once he arrived at the academy he got looks of surpise from everyone. Eventually he got immediate praise and respect from everyone around him, everyone except one it seemed. He quickly ignored them all and went to check into his dorm room.
