Taylor's P.O.V.
Rain battered against my window pane as I woke up. Squinting, I looked through the gap in my curtains out into the city of London. Dark clouds covered the sky, and occasional flashes of lightening lit up the city in an eerie light. A storm. As I watched with amazement at the forks of lightening, a sudden shiver down my spine brought me back to reality.

"Bloody hell it's freezing!" I muttered through chattering teeth. Rubbing my arms in an effort to warm them, I slipped from my bed and grabbed yet another blanket. I wrapped it around my shoulders and headed out into the hallway. I searched the dark walls for the heating control box and switched on the torch from my phone. All the switches were off on the box, and when I turned them all on again, nothing happened. Confused, I reached for the light and flicked it on. Again, nothing happened.

"Brilliant! Bloody brilliant!" I groaned, flashing the torch around. As I did, I heard Thomas open his bedroom door and step out into the hallway. He looked confused when he saw me.

"Taylor, what are you doing?" He asked, "And why is it so cold?"

"Because my friend, we have had a power cut and the heating is therefore not on!" I moaned, wrapping the blanket tighter around my shoulders.

"Oh brilliant!" Thomas sighed, rubbing his hands together. A sudden clap of thunder caused Thomas to jump about a foot in the air, and place a hand to his chest.

"Scared of storms?" I smirked over my shoulder as I fumbled my way into the living room.

"No I'm not scared!" Thomas complained, following me. He jumped again as thunder boomed throughout the city and I shook my head, grinning.

"Yeah, totally not scared!" I pulled back the curtains and a dim, grey light from the dark sky filled the room. The occasional fork of lightening would brighten it up with a flash of eerie white.

"Eureka! We now have light!" I grinned, as Thomas opened the blinds in the kitchen.

"Wow, you're a genius!" He smirked sarcastically, "You want some tea?" He walked over to the kettle and pressed the switch. When the kettle did nothing, Thomas hit the kitchen top in frustration.

"Oh I forgot! No power!"

"Wow, you're a genius!" I laughed as I mimicked his tone from earlier, "Well it's too cold to go back to sleep in my room!" I curled up into a ball in the corner of the sofa and grabbed the T.V. remote.

"Ur, Taylor?" Thomas grinned from the kitchen, "No power, remember?"

"You little...!" I growled as he smirked, throwing the remote across the room at him. It bounced across the carpet and thankfully didn't hit anything that would have broken. Sighing, I exhaled deeply.

"What to do, what to do," I mumbled, as Thomas came and sat down beside me. Suddenly, a loud vibrating started from the coffee table, which made me jump with fright.

"Not scared of thunder but you're scared of a vibrating phone?" Thomas snickered as he reached forward and answered his phone. I hit him on the arm angrily.

"Hey Dylan!" He grinned.

"Tommy! I have no power!" I heard Dylan whine down the phone. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard him.

"Is Taylor laughing at me?" He said in a low tone. I burst into laughter and Thomas did too.

"Yeah, she's sat next to me!" Thomas chuckled.

"Wait? In your room?" Dylan exclaimed down the phone. Thomas and I exchanged a look before we started to howl with laughter.

"No, she's not in my room!" He laughed, "We're both in the living room!"

"Ohhhhhhh," Dylan replied, "Anyways, I was wondering if you were doing anything today?"

"Well, Taylor and I were gonna go hunt for bears and then pitch a tent in the living room and build a fire!" Thomas joked, winking at me as he did.

"Ooooh sounds fun! Can I join in?"

"Yeah sure! Not like we've got anything better to do, I guess!" I shouted next to Thomas. I grinned when I heard Dylan laugh sarcastically.

"You're a funny girl, Taylor!" I could tell he was smirking as he said it, "Anyway, I'll come round about 10:00am? That okay?"

"Brilliant! See ya!" Thomas hung up the phone and turned back to me, "Right then, I guess you and I should get dressed!"

"Eh hem? And what is wrong with this?" I asked, as Thomas looked my Mickey Mouse pyjamas up and down. He just shook his head laughing, as he walked towards his bedroom.

"Right then, I'll take a shower and-" He quietly said to himself before I cleared my throat.

"No power, remember?" I laughed as I heard him shout out in frustration and kick his door shut.

Two hours later...

"Morning, morning, morning!" Dylan grinned broadly as Thomas opened the front door to let him in. I burst into shrieks of laughter when I saw him. He was wearing normal jeans and hoodie, but over his shoulders he had about five woolly blankets wrapped around him. He looked like a giant marshmallow or something!

"It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!" I cried as he greeted me with a giant hug. The pair of them laughed at my reference to the one and only Despicable Me, and we all collapsed on the sofa.

"So what have we been up to this bright and sunny morning?" Dylan laughed, clapping his hands down on his knees, "Still got no power?"

"Actually, our power came back on literally just before you got here!" Thomas exclaimed, causing Dylan to jump up and down excitedly.

"Yay! You know what that means?" Dylan smirked, "VIDEO GAMES!" Thomas cheered, and they turned to me.

"You wanna play video games?" Thomas asked me, tilting his head to the side. Before I could even start to reply, Dylan collapsed on his knees in front of me and placed his hands together.

"Please please please?" He begged with wide eyes. I held back my laugh and bent my head down to his level.

"Okay if that'll make you happy!" I said slowly, patting his head with my hand. Clearly ecstatic, Dylan leaped at me and crushed me in a hug.

"Yay!"

An hour after playing Call of Duty...

"WOO HOO!" I shouted with victory as I beat both Dylan and Thomas at Call of Duty, their favourite game.

"You beat us! You actually beat us!" Dylan whined, holding his head in his hands.

"How did you do that?" Thomas groaned, leaning back in the sofa and running his hand through his hair, "I thought you'd be rubbish!"

"Well, I did used to play Call of Duty when I was in uni, so I guess I've still got it!" I laughed, flexing my biceps.

"Meanie!" Dylan poked his tongue out at me, as I got up to my feet.

"Right, I'm going to have a bath whilst you two sharpen up on your skills!" I announced, leaving the two of them fighting over which weapon they wanted. Laughing quietly, I opened the bathroom door and began running the bath. About ten minutes later, I jumped into the hot water and pressed my head back against the head rest. I closed my eyes slowly, listening to the quiet music playing from my iPod. Minutes passed, and I still lay, relaxed in the bath. A sudden bright flash lit up the dimly lit bathroom, followed by a loud boom which caused me to shoot upright with shock. The lights flickered for a moment, before the entire room flooded with darkness. My eyes widened with horror.

"No no no no!" I grumbled, looking around me for any source of light. My phone was at the other side of the room, and there was nothing else I could use. I was sat in a bath, in the pitch black. Brilliant. Standing in the Dark, by Lawson started playing from my phone and I shot it an angry look in the dark.

"That's not funny!" I said through gritted teeth.
