The air is refreshing on my skin. Similar to that feeling of getting in the water on a hot summer day; you feel your exhaustion slowly disappear and you're able to breath again.
That's what we needed. To breathe.
And to forget.
It wasn't supposed to go like this.
This was never meant to happen.
This was supposed to be a good moment. A moment that we would remember for the rest of our lives.
I don't want to remember this.
Not this.
Everything hurts.
My head feels like it's about to explode.
I'm gasping for air, but it's painful to even breathe, and the more I try, the worse it gets. Every time my chest rises and falls, excruciating pain explodes through my ribs. I think they're broken.
Everything is broken.
I keep calling out to him, praying that he can hear my voice. He won't respond.
The pavement is cool against my skin.
Rain is falling now. Falling from the grey sky onto my face and seeping into every inch of my clothes. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open—both from the rain and because I am slowly losing consciousness.
I want to lift my head. To stand up and search for him—to make sure he is okay—but I can't feel anything.
Not even my fingers.
I scream his name, again.
Please. Please answer me. I need to hear your voice. I'm scared. Please please please please.
I need to know if you're alive.
Talk to me, Heeseung.
